I have a Nissan Serena 2003 model with CVT gearbox. It wount engage 1,2 when moving in low speed, or uphill.when behaving this way, its fails to reverse,or reverse in difficulty.

Have the codes read at Autozone. Check out the wiring to the speed sensor on the output shaft of the gearbox. Be prepared to change the speed sensor itself. Is the speedo functioning? Often when the speed sensor is faulty the speedo dial fails

Colt Club cab speedo not working, what can be wrong?

Three things. If it is only the speedo, it can be either the dash unit (unlikely) the wiring between the instrument cluster and the speed pickup sensor, or the sensor itself. The sensor is usually located on the gearbox near the final drive shaft. If you can find it, check it with an ohm meter, it should have a resistance of around 90 ohms, but any reading less than infinity (within reason) usually indicates a good sensor.
If other instruments also don't function, check for a fuse.

Replacing a crankshaft sensor

get the new sensor then you know what your looking for and how it fits etc, the crank sensor is located at the gearbox end of the engine it will be bolted/screwed to the end of engine block immediately over middle of gearbox with a wire connector coming from it you should be able to change this part without removing anything else but to give yourself a better view removing the air filter assembly is not very hard at all and will give you a bit more room if you think you need it after locating the crank sensor

Traction control light and abs light is on

Hi Tony, It sounds as if one of the wheel speed sensors has become defective. Have a scan carried out to determine which sensor it is and then either clean or replace it. The speed sensors on modern vehicles carry multiple tasks and are interlinked with a variety of functions. One defective sensor can be responsible for faults in traction control, ABS mal function and even gear change problems with automatic gearbox's Regards John

My problem is that it does not take the over drive or 4th gear all time.. i dont know what could be, some times works great but some other starts like tuning off and on the over drive. i check the o/d...

What overdrive does it gives you more revs so you can overtake another car or helps you towing, if i were you i would be looking at your gearbox as the overdrive function uses that to do its job.
