Where is the fuel pump relay?

This is the proto type. Has 2.8 litre v6 multi-port fuel injection.

    There were only 100 of this particular model of 1985 pontiac firebird made. It has the 2.8ltr multi-port fuel injection. It has thesuper sport suspinsion.

Usually located in the fuse box under the hood called power distribution center

The fuel pump should turn on for a couple of seconds just by turning the key to run. It has nothing to do with rotating the distributor, and I don't know what you mean by that?
When the engine computer senses the ignition key has been turned to on, it will send a signal to the fuel pump relay for a couple of seconds, and the relay being energized is what makes the pump turn on. The relay acts like an on-off switch. when its coil side is energized, the relay is "on" and will transmit power-in this case to the fuel pump. That two second run time lets the pump prime the feed line to the engine and put it under high pressure.
I guess you have throttle body fuel injection? The pressure called for that is less than for multi-port injection, that is about the only difference.

Is there a reset button on a 1999 isuzu trooper 4x4 it won't start acting as if it's out of gas but isn't already replaced fuel pump 2 mths ago

which engine? i cant guess engines, not today, too early.
what will be, will be..... fate always wins... and entropy.
so that is just 2 simple tests.
12vdc (11v cranking) to the pump , across both its 2 pins?
yes, /no of no work to ECU relay (fuel pump relay)
if the relay shows 12vdc cranking and pump
then we check fuel pressure, next.
but that is all wrong..... what do we really do, as all EFI systems can cut fuel for many reasons, besides that pump.
ill guess its a gasoline engine, and still stock end to end. (blind too)
1: head lights glow bright , key off. and cranks fast on demand.
2: key on, the CEL glows, in cluster, it must or ECU lost power.
3: fuses to ECU and pump good...???? all fuses good.
4: i connect scan tool (any tool works in usa, here) at the 16pin DLC port seen near knees of driver. i get comms now. if not say so.... if no comms now, the ecu is dead.
5: I crank for 5seconds release key and if scans show DTC errors of
P03xx codes, now you know why injection is halted, by design.
all cars do that, if up to 3 things spark wise are bad, the ECU cuts all injectors dead. (prevents crash and burn, as seen on TV by law)
so if all that is OK,?
6:then i look and see if injector 1 passes my NOID light test.
yes, then it is injecting. ECU is....injecting. ok. (did its job)
7: i then check for 12vdc (11v cranking) to the pump, if not?, I trace that wire for its obvious failure or the relay bad.
if you have 12vdc to pump cranking (good)
i check fuel pressure next. using a tool called a fuel pressure gauge that costs $20 (ask)

one could skip to test 6 first. (6 bad, start back at #1)

next time post engine in car.
cylinder count at least and displacement.
the line up, last 2 are diesel...
3.2 L 6VD1 SOHC V6

Where is the fuel pump and fuel injector relays located on a 89chevyBlazer

Fuel pump is in the fuel tank and the fuel pump relay is under hood near firewall.The fuel injectors DO NOT have relays. The PCM controls the fuel injectors.

PGM-FI Main Relay

This relay is located behind the dashboard's lower cover. It consists of two individual relays. One is energized whenever the ignition is ON , thus supplying battery voltage to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). This relay also supplies voltage to the fuel injectors, and power to the second relay. The second relay is energized for two seconds, when the engine is turned ON , to power the fuel pump.

If the engine starts and continues to run, the PGM-FI relay is working and does not need to be replaced.

  1. Remove the relay.
  2. Apply battery voltage to the number three terminal.
  3. Ground the number two terminal.
  4. Check for continuity between terminals five and two.
  5. If continuity is detected, proceed to the step 7.
  6. If there is no continuity, replace the relay.
  7. Connect the number four terminal to the positive side of the battery.
  8. Ground the number two terminal of the relay.
  9. Check for continuity between the number five terminal and the number two terminal of the relay.
  10. If there is continuity, the relay checks out "OK". If the fuel pump still does not work, test the harness.
  11. If there is no continuity, replace the relay and retest.

Fuel pump wii not energize. installed new fuel pump & mpi relay are there any other fuses or relays?

mpi probably stands for multi port injection relay , there should be a fuel pump relay also.

My van will not run i have change fuel pump,filter

Try to see if you have a fuel pump relay and a fuel pump cutoff switch( fuel pump shutoff is for if you roll the vehicle or have an accident). Also, you may have a bad fuel pressure regulator. I don't know what type of fuel injection you have but the regulator is on the fuel rail for multiport injection and on the TBI for throttle body injection..the best way to check for proper fuel pressure is to get a fuel pressure tester and connect it to the fuel rail( the connector looks like that of a valve stem)...on the multi port the pressure should be around 40-60psi and on the TBI it should be around 15-25psi. If all else, then check to see that the injectors are ok
