How do I turn my alarm on the saturn vue

If you have a factory installed alarm the original factory key can activate the alarm by pressing the lock button twice(rapidly). The lock symbol is generally a symbol of a "locked" lock.
If there is no buttons on the car key or it is an aftermarket alarm, a key fab (a little alarm remote control with 2-4 buttons the size of a keychain) is needed to activate/deactivate the alarm.

Open the trunk with the key, it will disable the alarm. You probably need a new door lock cylinder, which you should look into. They're easy to replace, but take a while to get, as they have to be coded for your key. You can also remove the door lock cylinder by loosening the t20 torx screw near the door handle until the lock cylinder slides out(DO NOT LOOSEN MORE THAN NECESSARY TO GET THE LOCK CYLINDER OUT), then use a flathead screwdriver through the hole to activate the lock.

Bought from dealer with no keyless entry. alarm activates when doors are locked with power doorlock system. alarm sounds when we open the door. how do we de-activate the alarm before unlocking the door?

Opening the drivers door with the key is supposed to shut down the factory security but the drivers key cylinder usually goes bad. You will have to unlock the rear tail gate lock cylinder with the key and that will shut down the factory security, before opening the drivers door.Your other option is to have an aftermarket keyless entry system installed, which will open the doors remotely while shut down the factory security at the same time.

I just lost the main key with the wireless door/alarm mechanism. Now i'm using a spare key and need to disable the alarm completely. Is there any way to do that?

The first thing you need to do is find out if it is factorty or after market you do this but looking at the lights while the alarm is going off if the headlights are flashing, the alarm system is factory installed. Inserting the key into the driver door lock and turning to the left then back to the right is supposed to disarm it. If the parking lights are blinking,, the alarm is an aftermarket add on, and there should be a disarm button under the dash on the driver side. If it' an aftermarket alarm, you should be able to have it removed. There is a way to bypass the factory alarm. There is a wiring harness in the driver's door. You will have to remove the door panel to find it. The wire is dark green and purple. Splice into that wire and ground it to the chassis and the alarm should no longer work.

2000 mitsubishi eclipse disconnected battery to clean and charge and now will not start. Is there a problem with disconnecting battery for the computer?

yes you have activated the factory alarm and it has disabled starter. lock the doors close them then wait 15min and unlock the drivers door with the key this should reset the alarm.

Vehicle inoperable due to security system lockup, engine will not engage because alarm cannot be disabled

Try this: open the driver's door (or whatever you have to do) to get the alarm to go off (activate) . Then, while it is honking the horn or doing whatever it does , walk around the car to the front passenger door and using your door key turn the lock cylinder to the lock and then unlock position . I believe this will disable the alarm system if it is a factory installed OEM alarm .

Alarm goin off when trying to jump

for a factory alarm the only way is to lock/unlock doors(with key) unless some one knows how to disable the alarm altogether. if alarm is not factory just find the box and remove alarm system (you may need to reconnect some wires if it has starter disable as a feature)

Won't start

Hi, I understand you have a problem with the alarm.
If the alarm is activated, and if the alarm is aftermarket you have a valet switch , That you can use to deactivate, or put in by pass. just you need to locate, is a little switch going from the alarm module to a dash or any strategic location.
When you found turn the key to run position them move or press the switch. and everything has to stop blinking.
If you are unable to find the switch, put the in on position,
Them go to front and remove the negative battery cable, wait 1 minute and reconnect, them try to start.
But if the alarm is a Factory alarm and you don't have the remote control. you can try deactivate with the key in the door lock cylinder. turning from lock to unlock position.
But remember this model of trucks, they use a chip on the key
If you don't have a key with chip it's gonna do theis problem.

I hop this solve your problem. Thank for using fixya.
