Buy the after market wiring harness. It makes it plug and play. Cutting wires is not a good IDEA.

SOURCE: Is there an easy way to install an aftermarket

You can buy conversion harnesses from anyone that sells radios. It plugs into your factory plug and then you splice the aftermarket stereo wires to it.

It started when a guy tried to hook up my radio so what about factory amp

Still need to know what the problem here is. To address the amp issue is easy. Most factory installs use only the amp that is built into the radio deck and do not have an external amp. If you do have an amp...which would be a higher end factory install then you are using your deck as the preamp and then going to the amp. You need to find that amp for the hook up.

How to connect aftermarket radio into 2002 toyota camry JBL radio (the standart wiring doesn't work). Thanks

Your aftermarket radio should have color-coded wires which identifies power, ground, speakers, etc. most depaetment stores carry a radio harness adapter kit. This will connect to your radio's exact color coded wires, and will plug right in to your factory's wiring plug. And don't forget electrical tape.

The volume and the on/off control along with the display do not work very well any more on my 2001 mazda protege

I also encountered the same problem about a week after i bought my 01 protege. I unfortunately dont know how to fix it, but I recommend you just scrap the original factory stereo and get yourself some kind of aftermarket deck as I did. WalMart or Canadian Tire have some decent decks for cheap prices as well as Best Buy or Future Shop who also install for free when you purchase from them. Your looking at about 60-160 dollars for a decent deck.

Rear door speakers don't work w/ aftermarket radio in 94 suburban

You need to attach the blue wire on the stereo harness to the blue and white wire on the car adapter harness. they installed a small amplifier to power the rear door speakers and unless you connect those two wires then the speakers will not work.

After Market radio install on a 2001 Passat

Metra makes a preamp harness that you can use if you have the partial Bose system. My A4 had that (where the front speakers were run off of the headunit with speaker-level feed, but the deck put a line level signal to a rear amp to power the speakers). This harness would let you use the aftermarket deck with your factory speakers, if you have the partial Bose system. Best bet is to do a Google search for "Metra 2001 Passat" or something like that and I'm sure it'll show up.
