My radio knobs and display stopped working, but the stations can be changed with the steering wheel controls.

Hello Monica Briggs,

I've been into three different "wheel control" sound systems...

One for sure had a SEPARATE FUSE for the radio (FACE versus STEERING-WHEEL) controls...
(that was ... Find THE OPERATED FUSE & replace it).

Two was a SIMPLE RESEAT (unplug/re-plug) of the REMOVABLE face plate...

Three most interesting by far was a STUNNED radio...
Last operated from the steering wheel ... would respond to no inputs (any-source).

Thanks to Bill Gates (BLUE SCREEN of D**TH) training the WORLD on the POWER-RESTART ... We simply disconnected the CAR Battery for a minute... put it back together... set the time & stations.. and pretended we knew what we were doing...

Hope this is at least inspiring... Good luck.

2005 Honda element ingition switch do you have to take strewing wheel off

No, you don't have to take the wheel off. Just have to take the cover off between the wheel and the dash. Once that's off, then you will have access to the ignition. The only thing is, when you get your new ignition in, you will have to take it to a Honda dealer and have the ignition and key coded together. It will save you some money to put it in yourself, but you will have to tow it wherever the closest dealer is for you.

How you change horn pad at the strewing wheel

You remove the airbag first ,two screws/allen headed /torx headed screwqs on the back of the steering wheel ,this is a specialised job and dangerous so disconnect the battery first to stop the air bag from going off ,or better still take it to a mechanic

Hi, my 2.8 Diesel GWM display both the amber wrench and the check engine lights, it start normal but drive terrible in fourth gear, it sometimes wont respond or delay to respond to the accelerator pedal,...

The wrench means you need to service the engine ASAP. The check engine light has a lot to do with all the pollution control devices on the vehicle. It could be the fuel filter I always recommend to my customers to change them out on a diesel every 15,000 miles . It will save a lot of headaches.

My windsheild wiper motor sometimes stops mid way through the stroke and sometimes it doesn't work at all. If you leave on though it will eventually work but after a few minutes it starts to stop mid way...

It sounds like you have a faulty switch. I would recommend that you change the wiper control switch. In order to do this, yoyu will need to remove the steering column cover, and the steering wheel. Remember to disconnect the battery when you are performing any work in a car that has a SRS-safety restraint system.

I e bmw e46 with multi functionsteering wheel and i need to set service/oil can u helpi have been told i can do this on the steering wheel s that correct nd how please

Model Year 1999 to Mid-2000: You should have the older round 20-pin DLC
connector under your hood behind the battery terminal, you need to use a small
length of wire to connect (short) pins 7 and 19 for 3-5 seconds with the
ignition key in position 1 (Accessory).

B. After Mid-2000: You should not have the 20-pin DLC connector.
You only need to hold the left odometer reset button while turning the key to
position 1 (Accessory). Keep holding the button for 5 or so seconds until any of
the following shows in the display: OIL SERVICE or INSPECTION with RESET or RE.
Release the button and press it again for another 5 or so seconds until RESET or
RE flash. While the display flashes, press the button one more time briefly. If
done correctly, END SIA should show up for a few seconds. All done.

What is function of trac on/off control? What is best setting?

Trac is short for Traction. In english and easy terms on older cars only one wheel was used for forward motion..on newer cars (mid 70's and later) they have dual traction whereas both rear or front wheels provide motion from engine. With even newer cars 1995 and forward many manufacturers began installing intelligent or positive traction. This means that the car can sense when one of those wheels is losing grip and transfer more of the engine output and torque to the other wheel. They did this so if one wheel was on an ice patch but the other wasnt it would still move, etc, etc. Your car, and many others, gives you a button to decide if you want the engine computer to monitor the wheels and automatically do this for you or if you want to turn off the monitoring and have the power to both wheels be the same. You should run with traction control on during normal operation. If you are in deep snow or other conditions you can turn it off to get more force out of wheels to get unstuck, etc.
