Question about 2004 Chrysler Town & Country
I would check all fuses regarding these , they make look intact but check the legs of fuses sometimes they get like a brownish coating on them that will cause them to play up, either wipe legs down with bit of sandpaper or replace with new. Hope you sort it.

no that light wouldnt have nothing to do with it. did you take the bulb out and visually inspect it?? or just go by the brake light working?? either bulb is bad, or short in the wire going to the socket

behind the fuse box there is a gray connector. check the red/white wires on either side of the connector for 12 volts. if no voltage on either side replace 40 amp fuse in engine compartment fuse box, if voltage on only one side, repair the connector connection overheats and melts inside the connector
