Well if no check engine lights are on. I would check the engine for vacuum leaks, check your plugs and wires, clean your intake system from intake tube to throttle body. If fuel filter is replaceable replace it. But I think it's a sensor issue which should have been indicated through a check engine light. Possibly a O2 sensor. Mass air flow sensor or idle air control. Do you have any kind of miss in the engine when running

Could be a dirty egr valve exhaust gas recerlater. I had a problem where my car wouldn't start or stay running unless I had gas pedal mashed to floor and it was that problem

If you can have a scanner connected to the car. Some shops would let you borrow their scanners. The error codes which may be saved in the computer may help accurately diagnose the problem,

If you have a spare carb cleaner somewhere try spraying it into the intake of the car. This could clear out dirt in the MAF sensor.

Some problem may be due to loose vacuum lines or worn out lines or loose wiring on the engine or the ground wires connecting the engine to the body of the car. Even holes on the air duct from the filter to the intake of the engine.

Another is the idle air control valve which could be dirty or faulty. This maintains a constant idling and if faulty you may have rough idling and issues with starting the car.

It looks somewhat like the one below:

I have to pump the throttle several times and then it starts sometimes and sounds like backfireing allthough its feul injected!

'pumping' a fuel injected engine is NOT like the old days (like with a carb)-if you hold the petal to the floor, it shuts off the injectors-NO petal, the injectors pulse (and dump fuel to an engine that is slow to start). If you are having hard starting, chances are good you have a flooding condition-leaking injectors, leaking O-rings, a damaged fuel pressure regulator could all be re3asons for your hard starting (and backfiring from a flooded engine). You should try to HOLD the petal to the floor and see if that helps-if it does, you should get the fuel regulator checked, replace the injector o-rings, check fuel pressure and might even need to consider replacing injectors themselves (or having them cleaned).

Need help bleeding brakes 2004 ford explorer

To bleed the brakes 1st make sure the fuild level is full ,and you will need a assistant . have your assistant pump the brake petal three to four times then hold presure on petal (pushing down ) then open the bleeder valve on the left rear caliper ,have assistant push petal towards the floor until it stops and then hold it there until you close the bleeder valve ,then repeat process four to five time recheck brake fulid level then repeat same process on right rear caliper next go to right front and end on left front ,keep a eye on the fuild level so that it is not allowed to run out or you will have to start over again ,there is no speical procedure ,any other questions just ask

Clutch will not release

remove the gearbox to replace the clutch.this will teach you not to hold it on hills on the clutch but to put handbrake on and neutral.also the same at traffic lights and no boy racer flying starts where accelerator is floored and clutch ridden slowly to get most power to wheels, still its not difficult to change and clutches not that expensive if you do it yourself, garage price around 800 euros
