What does that mean? Run the fault codes?

  • Bill Boyd Mar 31, 2015

all of the sensors communicate with the ECM so that the program can adjust the engine and transmission settings to keep the system in tune. When there is a fault with a sensor and the parameters for that circuit are not met then a fault is recorded in the ECM which can be downloaded as a fault code. By having these fault codes read by a scanner, the faulty sensor can be determined and the problem fixed as cheaply as possible. service dealers , autozone or other accredited service shops can read the faults as they have scanners and knowledge as to how to connect.

Fan

You have to check the main relay fan fuse relay and disconnect the fan and try it directly to make sure the fan motor is fine if all this is well into the cavity where the thermostat is a thermal switch that sends it relay the signal to the fan you can disconnect and the fan has to start working if this works the problem is you have the thermal switch. Thanks

Radiator fan not working

Hi. Check the bottom of the radiator or on the side, as you also have a temperature-sending switch. The switch must reach a certain temperature before sending a signal on to the fan relay.

The switch just screws into the radiator.

If you would like to contact me again about this or other problems, feel free to do so.

Radiator fan not working

On some car, like in my renault, there is an additional fuse box near the engine.
Buy the complete Haynes manual for your car, it will show diagrams and picture of all parts, and eventually tell you which fuses and parts are involved in the radiator fan wiring.
Once you have the diagram you follow the circuit leading to fan and find the fault, it shouldn't be complicate.
