First you must loosen where the cable goes to the tranny and it will give you moor playing room when connecting it .
You cannot connect it from under the hood it must be done from under the dash.
Be sure to push the seat all the way back.

Bad presure plate. The clutch is made up of two parts, the clutch disk and the presure plate. as the vehicle gets older the pressur plate can bend making it imposible to push the pedal in. This is very common if your vehicle has a clutch cable as compared to a hydrolic clucth but happens with both just the same. The solution is replace the clutch.

the full shop manual is online at pub library. e-sources.
the arm fails because you cable is bad.
if you dont replace the cable it WILL fail again.

i can give you pn and Suz still sells them.
