What makes you think there is one, reading the wrong
operators guide?

98 is gen 2 jeep, 99 is gen 3, so which is it? one or the other.
WJ or WK
i this switch is not a stock jeep part, nobody can guess unless
the custom alarm is stated and its model number, period.

there is no valet switch, sorry, not by jeep
why not post symtoms, and then work real issues, not phantoms.

some cars the valet is used in the , normal ignition key slot.
the 04 has a valet button under dash.
lots of rumor.
https://www.google.com/webhp?gws_rd=ssl#q=jeep+grand+cherokee++++valet+key+switch+location

what is the problem, car will only run for 3 seconds. that it
this is SKIM failure. (or other 6 reasons for ASD relay drop out)

post symptoms and win.

Change the power button in the door, old don't work have to replace it thanx for help

You said, "change the power button in the door" -- do you mean power window button, power door lock, power mirrors switch?
I assume its for a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

REALLY IMPORTANT: If you intend to post here and expect to receive more accurate responses, suggestions and/or resolutions, you need to be far more specific.

I suggest the following:
1. determine it is definitely the button that's broken; could be fuse, could be bad or loose wiring, bad power window motor, etc.
(hey, i don’t profess to be an expert as i, too, am learning how to troubleshoot and fix stuff on my own to save $)

2. find the part you need on rockauto.com; this will also give you price range for and a picture of (in most cases) a replacement part

3. going to your local junkyard to obtain this part from same make/model vehicle (different year of vehicle may use same part, so this increases your chances of locating the part)
Furthermore, you can figure out (and practice) how to dismantle the door to get to the switch and the tools you may need

4. for additional information on troubleshooting and resolution:

Changing battery in 1999 Grand Cherokee. Alarm, not the horn alarm, will not stop going off. Is there a way to stop it with the "valet switch?"

first make sure u have the wires correct. You will need to perform a combination of unlocking and locking the door and starting the car do not use the valet key. call or visit your local dealer about the combo.
