Fuse box is located at side of the driver. just open door and locate door of fuse box beside the out of the a/c windows.

There is other fuse , the Computer fuse, located on engine location, passenger side . near the hood support, beside the relys

It is a 20 amp inline fuse under the hood along the orange wire of the fuel pump relay. See middle of diagram below. The relay is mounted along the upper firewall.

What cause brake lights not to work on a 1991 caprice

You have one of the following problems occurring.
1. The brake light fuse is blown. - Replace broken fuse 2. The brake lamp switch which is found by the brake pedal is faulty. - Have this checked and tested/replace if necessary 3. The bulbs are blown. - Replace faulty bulbs 4. You have a wiring connection fault. - This will need to be traced from the brake pedal switch the to rear of the vehicle.

The fuse in my 1991 Chevy Caprice keeps popping when I put it in, so I can't keep it lite to pop the trunk to check on the connection of the tail-light, which keeps going out.

You have a dead short somewhere in the circut. i.e. worn, broken or bare wire, wires grounding each other,or a ground that has come loose
