I have a 1993 BMW 325i that turns over very strong but will not start?

I charged the battery because it was dead after sitting for 4 months and now it cranks over really well but it won't start?

I Agree with ted.. Sitting for months is not good for a car.. Check your fuse box.. The one under the hood by the brake master cyl. Remove all the relays and reinstall.(one at a time) remove the fuses for the fuel pump. in fact remove and reinstall all the fuses.. check the fuse for the fuel pump to make sure it is not burned out. There should be extra fuses in the cap for the fuse box.. This simple procedure might correct the problem. As Ted said it would help knowing if the problem is fuel or spark.. another thing to check is the injectors should "Click" as the engine is turned over. just put your hand on one and you should feel the click as someone turns the engine over. The fuel filter is under the car, remove it and blow through it to make sure it is not clogged up. replace with a new filter since you have it off. . f put a container under the fuel feed line to the filter have some one crank the engine and see if the pump is putting out fuel. If the injectors are clicking and you have fuel at the feed line and the filter is not clogged. Next check for the spark. Let us know what you find..

Hello Edward:
The two magic ingredients are spark at the plugs and fuel in the jugs. Pull a plug...... if it is wet there is no spark, if it is dry, there will be no fuel. There can be a lot of reasons for either problem, so let's try to figure out which one we're dealing with first. Cheerfuls!

Battery dead, or starter problem? My 1992 381i won't start. The battery has at least some juice in it (I can turn the headlights and interior lights on). But the digital clock has re-set to 0:00,...

It is most likely a flat or dead battery but first check the battery terminals are clean and firmly attached.
If all above checks ok replace the battery.

There are several reasons why an attempted jump start may not have worked, such as :-
1) the jump cables used are poor quality,
or
2) the battery used as a power source may not have sufficient capacity.

I went to vacation for a month and tried to restart my car, no luck. Also tried using jump start still no luck,(BMW 325i -2004) Please advice

Is it turning over at all or is the starter at least clicking? Check the water in the battery if it has removable caps. If the water is low then fill it with distilled water. If the battery went too far down on juice it may have a dead cell and need to be replaced. You could try a slow charge for 24 hours and see if the battery makes a recovery. They make a little solar trickle charger that has a solar panel that goes on your dash and has a cigarrete lighter plug. Something like this can keep your battery from dying when on long vacations. If the car is in the garage it comes with a long cord to run the panel outside.

if it does not do anything and the lights dont turn on then its either loose battery cables or dead battery but if the lights turn on and you here a clicking noise then your starter went bad and 3/4 the time its usually the starter

take battery back get a new one or have it tested. like auto zone or a parts store even wal-mart now. If this battery was just dead and needed charged. Then sounds like to me you have a bad alternater. you can rely know if you can get the battery charged up and get the car to start. and while the car is running pull the positive connection of the battery if car dies bad alternater .
