Make sure the cables have no corrosion between the cable and battery connection. Use baking soda in a cup of water after you remove each battery cable. After that process take a battery post brush ( a couple of dollars at Walmart ) and shine the posts on the battery and the cable ends. Reconnect the cables and insure they both are tight. If you can move the cables after you tighten them, it's not enough. If there is no room to tighten them any more then replace with new cable ends.

Try tracing the positive wires from the battery. Also try a jump start with all electronics off. I've never heard of a vuka if you can identify the back of motor and front of transmission it will be sling that seam somewhere could have dust cover over it as well hope this helps

Where is the battery on 2005 Jaguar VDP Trunk? can you jump it from under hood>>

the battery is in the boot/trunk on the rh side under boot trim,,if you cant open trunk with the button or remote use the key in the slot in the boot finisher. that is more than likely siezed cos nobody ever uses it, try a lube spray in the key slot if you cant gain access. if you need to jump start and can not get in the trunk i think the main battery terminal comes to the rh front under bonnet on rh drive cars near brake servo/ master cylinder, you can power it up from jump battery from that point,

Hey Steve, if you need a jump to start it then every thing is working except battery holding power try putting battery on a SLOW charge for a day then try again when its running check output of altinator with a fully charged battery it should be 12.5-13.5 volts and rise when you rev motor up ,when you jump it im thinking the battery is very low and the altinator is trying to recharge battery and it cant do that in just a few minutes running time or take it on along ride and watch amp gauge .good luck Steve.

Left the lights on, have a dead bat. tried to jump it, made beep, now totally dead. cant seem to jump it.

Clean the cables but to do this you have to take the cables off the battery posts and clean around the posts and inside the cable end attachments. You can use coca cola to melt the **** away if you are stuck somewhere. You can jump all day long but if a bunch of **** is there it will basically block your charge from every getting anywhere.

Car tries to start but cant seem to turn over. battery seems fine

Get your battery tested, if your battery has failed internally sometimes jump starting doesn't help as the battery is pulling all the current away from your starter.

Battery seems dead but lights and everything electrical seems fine smoke comes from battery if you jump it

Okay, what you seem to be saying is the battery does not turn over the engine and the battery smokes when you jump it to start it. But the lights and radio and everything works except the car will not turn over by itself. The battery smokes because either the battery has a short in it, it smokes because the starter is dragging, and/or the jump wires are not hooked up red to red and black to black. You need to have the battery and starter checked. If the car runs take it to an autoparts place to test. Or if it won't run take out the battery have it tested and if it is good, then take out the starter to test it.
