Question about 1998 Dodge Caravan
What Christopher said is right. Are you still having the same problem? Did you use new or used parts. If you are still having the problem with new parts it is possible the rack and pinion is bad. Another possibility could be the steering column might be bad. It doesn't happen very often but it does happen. It happen to me a year ago on a 2001 PT Cruiser.

When replacing the pump and lines did you bleed the system? Jack the front of the car up lifting both front wheels off of the ground. With the car off turn the steering wheel lock to lock 8 or 10 times. Then start the engine and repeat the process except turn the steering wheel lock to lock 25 to 30 times. That should help.
