Since it started, the ECM is good. Check the accessory fuse for the interior.

You may have blown the computer(ECM). Newer cars are somewhat protected from this. But older ones weren't. Put a scanner on it. If the scanner doesn't read it, you've blown the ECM

There is a large maxi-fuse between the battery and alternator. Its at least 100 amp or more. It may be in the cable at the battery, or in one of the fuse boxes.
You may also have damaged the key switch or the brake circuit.
You may have to get a book to get the wiring diagrams to check everything involved.

Daughter called me wont start. checked battery at is good. someone stopped to help them and bang on startere and it starts up. Bad starter. Starter replaced. Next day daughter...

it sounds like you have blown fuse to the Alternator.. I don't know what car you are talking about but they charging systems vary.. But if alternator isn't getting all the power it needs it won't charge. this should be checked.

good luck

I pulled my van into a friends house yesterday, turned off the engine and then lost power to everywhere. Nothing works anymore and of course won't start up

First off check the fuses under the dash. And make sure battery terminal connections are tight and clean.Check for proper tension (roughly 1/2 inch of deflection) on Alternator belt and that belt is present.Sounds like there is a alternator issue.Did your battery light come on while driving? Have a friend jump start you (follow safe jumpstart procedures or you could damage your friends car or yours ie:Ignition key off,Postive cable goes on first when attaching cables, negative cable comes off first when discconnecting cables. Let charge for 15 min or so before trying to start your vehicle ) If it starts look for a battery light on the dash. If no battery light is on then alternator is probably ok and battery is bad (take it out and have it tested at your local autoparts store). If the light is on then you have an alternator problem. To confirm alternator problem check output voltage across battery terminals. Should be min 13.5-14.5 no more than 14.5 If you have to replace the Alternator make sure battery is good and has a full charge and negative batt. cable is disconnected,if not you could potentially ruin you r new alternator

Car wont start

You may have bought a bad battery, it happens. A battery's strength is measured in amps, you should take the battery to a parts store and have it checked to see what the amperage output is. If it is a good battery, then you need to check the terminals and see if they are worn out. Also, have someone jumpstart the car and then test the voltage output of the alternator. It should put out at least eleven volts. If not, the alternator or it's regulator may have gone out. You would then need to take the alternator to a parts shop and have it tested. Finally, sometimes the ground wires or even the lead wire from the alternator can get corroded or short out. If this happens, your vehicle will not function. Hope I could help!

No Electrical

Slightly Possible Though Fusable LINKS are in place to Protect from This, You must Check And TEST Any & All Fuse Links @ ALL the MAIN Power Leads. This is what has Happened , Also REPLACE ALL Damaged Wire < Burned from Short to Ground. Feel fre to Reply Back For any Questions.

You may try replacing the battery and the battery cables cause they may possibly be fryed from the cross-over and if that doesn't work you might have to replace the fuse box and the fuses running into them
