Could be a lot of things, did you change the spark plugs lately? How about the spark plug wires, does it happen mainly when its damp out? That would lead me to wires. Did you change the fuel filter lately? Under acceleration it uses the most gas, thus the fuel filter needs to get the most fuel through it. Same goes for spark plugs they are working harder under acceleration. Maybe just take it in for a tune up if its been a while.

Hi Cory, I suggest you take the vehicle for a diagnostic scan. If you have a speed sensor problem as I suspect, it will show on the fault readouts. Regards John

You are a 1990 Oldsmobile sihouette with a 3.1 these vehicle are speed density in other word you are equipt with a MAP (manifold air pressure) when this sensor fails you loose the ability to accelerate or hesitate as you accelerate make sure the vacuum hose is connected to it and it is no leaking vacuum if the hose is okay and it is electrically connected correctly your fix is to replace the MAP sensor

2000 passat v6; check engine light+spuddering when accelerating

good chance with that problem you were close most likely a misfire will cause that. it would be either your spark plugs or coil pack. also make sure your vacuum lines are good and air filter is good. also bad gas can cause that problem. the worst outcome would be your throttle body going out on you.

01 lincoln ls still spuddering

Most likely caused by a failing coil pack. The dealer can do what is called a stress test on them to see if they are bad or not but this is pretty labor and time extensive because they have to be removed one at a time to test them. If you have access to a scan tool that will read mode 6 data it may show which cylinders are showing some miss fires and you can try and just replace the ones that show a miss fire and see if that works.
