SOURCE: 87 Dodge Ram pickup with automatic transmission

Not much difference in the city. Might even help your fuel mileage but over 45 probably not so good. Would probably burn up your transmission

Reverse band is not operating correctly most likely. You need to take it to the tranny shop. If you drop your transmission pan and took very detailed pictures, I might be able to confirm your problem.

1993 dodge spirit want go in passing gear or low gear what causes this

probably a faulty transmission, you probably need to see a transmission man , a good independent is probably the correct man to visit. This reticence to shift is probably not a job to tackle yourself

2010 dodge ram1500 automatic transmission stay in 4 gear

It is more than likely the Shift Positioning Censor. Run up to any auto parts store and have the codes read. Can only be purchased at the dealer and is actually easily installed. It is suggested that you replace the cylinder packs also, but in a 2005, I wouldn't. IF you need assistance on how to replace censor, let me know.

A major blockage in the exhaust system, a major vac leak around the intake, or a loss of fuel pressure come to mind.

How do I tell what type of transmission is in my 1997 Ram1500 with a 5.9L V8 eg.42RE 46RE 47RE?

There should be a sticker on the underside of your hood which lists transmission, axle(s), paint code, and so on. It may need a little cleaning to be readable.
