Question about 2000 Pontiac Bonneville

1 Answer

When driving, and I let off my throttle, it slowly idles down, like its not responsive like it should be, also theres a constant noise while im driving, that is not coming from the tires. I think it has something to do with this idling problem, but the car isn't idling too low or too high so I don't get it..

No throttle response

You could be right in thinking it is a problem with the throttle position sensor, but in the wiring back to the computer rather than the sensor itself.
Another option may be the engine is starving for fuel when the problem happens. Things like a weak fuel pump, or a faulty O2 sensor among other things.
If the fuel pressure drops, then recovers, you would get the same effect.
A mechanic would use a scanner to watch the sensors when the problem occurs.

Im recieving codes p132 and p141 when stopped at light it feels like its idling down and when driving some time i here when im pressing on the gas a poping noise like its not getting the right air flow

I recently experienced the code P0132 issue described where my '99 Durango would lose power upon pressing the gas and the popping noise would occur... It only gets worse leading to real poor performance. The solution consisted in replacing the throttle position sensor and then resetting the computer by clearing the codes and removing virus using a scanner.

Runs erratically

The idle air valve (located below the throttle body) provides the control for constant idle speed. In order to set the correct air valve opening to achieve constant idle speed, the fuel injection control unit uses information from the air mass meter, throttle valve switch and the ignition control unit (RPM signal) to regulate the output current to the idle air valve. This means that the idle valve is not affected by air leaks or a jammed throttle valve.
