That gentleman is rigt about u t being a vacuum ported ac control head assembly. What that means is that your ac controls has a ain vacuum line tat go to ac control head. Always check for vacuum, if there is vacuum try cleaning the hose attachment supplied to the back of the control head, sometimes the ported vacuum tube assemply gets pl liu gged up. Then check actual transfer of vacuum to vacuum actuators located on the driver side just above the gas pedal area on the hvac system. Yu can also test the vacuum actuators by applying vacuum to see if they pull the door open and hold vacuum.

If all your air or heat comes out of your defrost than the problem is more than likely your switch or a vacuum hose to the switch. Car's default to defrost when there is a problem. I can't recall off the top of my head but I do believe that vacuum controls the blend doors on the 98 Ranger. I can't quite remember but I think the white one is the main vacuum. Either way. pull out your heater switches, disconnect the rubbery plug with all the vacuum hoses, start the engine....1 of those should have constant vacuum, if not...chase it.....there will be 1 that goes through the firewall to the engine, the rest go to the blend doors.

It is very likely you have a stuck air temperature control blend door and or the blend door actuator has failed, since the dash must be removed to replace these parts you always do both.

No air blowing out of vent

The thermostat only controls how hot the engine gets.
It could be the blower motor, or a blend door under the dash.
You would need to check the blower motor for power and ground, if it is running a door may be stuck closed.
The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and vents.

Heat comes thru driver's side vents, but blows cold air thru passenger side vents

You likely have a faulty blend door. It could be electrically, mechanically related, or even a broken door. It may be the blend door motor, or possibly the temp sensor.

Left Vents blow warm/hot air when calling for cold air

Usually a sign of a faulty blend door under the dash.
The blend doors direct air thru the ac and heater core along with the upper and lower vents.

I have no hot air the air blows out the heater is getting hot my dashbord controls work i have antifreeze wat cod be the problem is there a vent switch to change cold from hot where is it located

The part that controls the temperature of the air coming out the dash vents is called the blend door and the blend door actuator motor, this door is operated by a small specialized electric motor that moves this door back and forth between the heater core and the AC core to give the desired temperature of air at the vents. The common issue here is that this plastic door warps and begins to stick, this destroys the tiny motor drive that operates due to overloading. To repair the problem requires the entire dash be removed from the van, a huge job, the door is located inside the air ducting under the dash.

2 vents blow semi cold aair and the other 2 blow hot air

You have a blend door issue under dash. Also possible blend door actuator motor may have failed. Try moving the mode select dial on control panel back and forth and listen for air sound change under dash at both sets of vents. If do not hear air flow change door is not moving.
