2002 Dodge Stratus heat/air blower motor only runs on high #4 setting

this is an indication that the blower motor resistor is bad and needs to be replaced. the system is designed to always work on high if the resistors go bad.

The blower motor stays on high all the time. A/C works but will not come out dash vents, comes out defrost and changes to floor when I accelerate. Thanks for your help. Cecil

Your problem with the blower motor only running on high is caused by a defective blower motor resistor pack. Replace the resistor pack. The problem with the vents is not related to the blower motor, and is caused by a problem with the vent controls. I suspect you have a vacuum leak under the dash.

My blower fan only wrks on high. is there 2 separate fuses?

The blower fan only working on high is caused by only one thing, that is a defective blower motor speed control resistor, the resistor is located next to the blower motor in the air ducting, replace it and the problem is solved.

Need to change fan motor control switch? Only works on high setting.

this problem is not caused by the switch, it is caused by a defective blower motor speed control resistor, the resistor is located near the blower motor.

What's causing my 2005 E-250 blower motor not to work.

does the motor not work at all or only on high setting? if only on high setting, i would recommend replacing the blower motor resistor. if it does not work at all, i would check the blower motor fuse first, if that has power, i would unplug the blower motor, key in run, and turn the fan on, then check for power at the blower motor connector, then check for ground, if both present, then replace the blower motor.

How do I know if the blower motor needs to be replaced, or if it's the resistor?

if it doesn't run at all then the problem is likely the motor, if it has only high speed then the resistor is defective, but I have seen the resistor cause an inop blower at any speed on this car, so test the blower 1st by jumping 12 volts to the motor connector on the underside of the passenger dash.

Erratic Blower Behavior

The blower motor resistor can cause eratic behavior and the loss of some speeds and not others. I would check this first before replacing the motor.
