Question about 2002 Jaguar X-Type
Changed plugs , but still there
Do you mean pinking? which can be caused by poor fuel quality. but you engine has two knock sensors one on each bank which will detect this and compensate by retarding the ignition timing, the spark plugs are also suspect you need to make sure the correct plugs are fitted. get the fault codes checked you may have a faulty knock sensor or it may have worked loose, they are piezo electric devices and if loose become insensitive, also check the engine breathing system, oil seperator e.t.c. you may be getting engine oil entering the combustion chambers, good luck
