The Battery COULD be the problem, or dirty battery cables would seem more likely in many cases. If the cables are loose, wet inside with green, black, or white staining, or fuzzy white outside...they need to be serviced and possibly replaced if the corrosion has migrated from the terminal end into the cables themselves.

In addition to power availability that should be tested with a meter or a load tester, you need to look at antitheft/alarm systems if installed, ignition switch condition, park/neutral/clutch switch operation, When it doesnt crank, does it do anything? loud repeating clicks? 1 single click? dead quiet? crank too slow and not start? Exact descriptions get exact answers.

Could be a bad or loose connection on the battery.
When you're trying to start the car, turn on the headlights. If they dim or go out, the problem is the battery or battery connections.
Hope this helps.

Starter problems, Suggestions???

Starters tend to fail intermittently. Yes, if it started after a "whack", I woul suggest replacing your starter. Make sure all connections are tight and of course clean terminals and cables.
