I have a 2001 ford escape, when it is cold it does not want to idle right it chugs and wants to back fire through throttle body. when it is warm it runs good.I have replaced coil pack and spark plugs.

I would think it might be the coolant temp sensor as this increases the fuel for cold start. like a choke. it may also change the timeing of the engine cause it is read by the computer

Have you checked the thermo fans are cutting in and out. It may be the switch at the botom of the radiator or someone may have left the wire to the fan disconected probably when replaceing the radiator. or the A/C condensor might be blocked with grass stopping the air flow.

I have a 2001 Ford Escape. The warning light for the rad comes on after the truck has run for 10 or 15 minutes - have checked all the levels and everything is good. Any ideas?

You may have a bad sensor in the resevior. You can try tapping on the resevior and see if sensor comes free and light stays off. The coolant level sensor or collant temp sensor could be bad.
