Just set up xm radio. It works fine using dash control. Using steering wheel controls, the radio will not change from the a,m, setting.

What vehicle are you needing assistance with. You may wish to visit a dealer and ask for assistance if his unit was included with the vehicle. You may also want to search the manufacturer site to see if instructions are included there. I had a similar problem with my vehicle, but once I went through the documents it became easy to figure out.

How do I change the external temp readout from Celsius to Fahrenheit on a 2010 Ford Explorer XLT?

There should be an option in the menu on your dash. There will either be three different buttons in a couple different places. Check the steering wheel, above or below the radio, or under the dash dimmer control located on left of the steering wheel. The buttons will always read info/setup/reset in that order. Press the setup button and look for the temperature control setting and follow the on screen instructions to reset it. Or if your car is the newer version there will be 4 arrows and an ok button on the left of your steering wheel. Use the arrows to scan through the dash screen and scroll to either setting or convenience, do the same thing. follow the on screen instructions and you should be set.

With A/C your problem is condensation, you may have an A/C tube that has damage or a small cut throughout the connection, or it could be the clamp. Go under the dash and see where it leaks from and just remove the plastic tubing or hose. You can get that part at Autozone, lappens or Pep Boys.

You can replace the radio with an aftermarket but the steering wheel controls wont work unless you hook up the steering wheel control adapter , where ever you buy the radio ask for that interface or any car stereo shop will sell it to you and you will be all set.

99 olds Intrigue factory CD player problem

I am not sure about repairing the unit. Do you have a CD cleaner?
You might check with a reputable auto electronics shop, one that specializes in car audio. They may have an adapter that will allow an aftermarket radio to be controlled from the steering wheel. Rosen makes a nice am/fm/cd/dvd navigation unit that also has XM and iPod inputs. The hard part will be to find supporting interfaces and wiring harnesses to fit a 99.

CTS in dash navigation system

There is a company called PAC that specializes in modules like you describe - keeping the steering wheel controls functional with an aftermarket radio.

Click HERE to visit their site. You have to choose a compatible manufacturer. Basically - it is turning the steering wheel controls into a "remote" hidden in the dash.

CLICK HERE for the PAC installation guide for the 2006 CTS

For best results and compatibility, look for a shop in your area that carries PAC - it is a common manufacturer in the BIZ, and have them install it.

The simple answer to your question is YES as long as you use the module compatible for the brand of radio you are installing.

Steering wheel lamps do not work (radio controls, temp, cruise)

The lights on the steering wheel are in the switches. To fix the lights, the whole switch needs to be replaced. Same thing goes for the Tempature Controls and radio. Overall, I think it would be very expensive to replace all of the switches to get the lights working. I have the same vehicle, and almost all of the lights are out.

I think the lights behind the gage controls are replaceable, although you still have to rip out most of the dash to get to them.

I have the auto-sense wipers, so I was leaving the wipers on all the time, and the would only work when needed. The bad part I finally found out about this was that while the wiper switch is on (even though they were not wiping), it caused all of the dash lights, switch lights and rear parking light to be on. I think this alone significantly cut down on the life of the bulb.

For now, I am just living without the lights. The temperature control is very expensive (just the part alone).

You can usually find the best price for these things at http://www.rockauto.com
