Are you sure it is the switch? Could be connections or a bad ground from rear light assembly. Possible both bulbs failed at the same time? or you didn't notice till both were out? Or have you already replaced old with new. or existing are still not burned out.
If sure it's the switch, and you are a DIY I recommend you purchase a repair manual for your year, make and model from your favorite Auto parts store. You will probably need it in the future anyway. Try filepeep.com if they have it, or manualslib.com

SOURCE: tucson reverse lights not working

Reverse light switch is activated by the shifter, either automatic or manual. Check for a loose connection once you find the switch

Tucson reverse light bulb

I would check your fuses first,if all are good , there is a switch in your shift console that triggers the back up lights to come on, this is not easy to get to so take your time

Auto gearbox works

Check for your reverse lights switch which is located on the gear box housing. Sometimes the switch gets a dirt on the internal side (hole) and cause the fault. I personally before go for a new part,I wash it and blow air in the hole and re fit it and it works.

The rear breaks on my 2006 hyundai tucson are no working. I checked the light bolts and that was not the problem. what i need to check and where is the dash fuse box located

try adjusting them? Simply back up in reverse with your brakes depressed,.,

OH GEESH -- PLEASE RE-read your question,. I think you are MISSING DETAIL.... oooopsie...

Light BOLTS = Light BULBS??

Are you asking about brake LIGHTS?

If so check the brake light switch at the pedal,. the fuse boxes are under the hood.

Best regards
Ck

My reverse lights do not work on my car? we have checked the fuse and the light bulbs. I had my clutch replaced . . . would that effect the lights?

No there is nothing that would effect your reverse lights unless they dissconnected a ground wire while they were replacing the clutch

05 TUCSON REVERSE LIGHTS ON CONSTANTLY EVEN WHEN DRIVING OR PARKED. LIGHTS STAYING ON EVEN WHEN KEY REMOVED FROM IGNITION AND DOORS CLOSED AND CENTRAL LOCK ENABLED???? THANKS

You'll have to find the transmission range sensor (also called 'park/neutral switch' and 'neutral safety switch') located on the transmission. It will be at the other end of the shift cable that moves when you move the shift lever. I might be able to give you more detail but these vehicles came with more than one drivetrain and I would need to know which trim you have, i.e. GL, GLS, LIMITED, SE, or LX. The part number for it is: 1S5750 and it is around $25 from www.rockauto.com. It looks like this:

Once you find the switch, unplug it to see if the lights go out. If they do, then you know you need a new switch.

I have a tucson premium 09 but on 10 plates only 400 miles on clock, and i have started to get bad smell of clutch burning when i drive along road, from cold in the morning or after stood for a while ,...

the bad smell you are getting is the manufacturers wax gassing of with the heat(newness)it will dissipate on a nice sunny day....if you are new to the "auto" 4wd system of hyundai then reverse is normal....the switch for 4wd only operates under 21mph.then it goes off on its own, above that speed.unless you are off road doing something silly.
