First is year make and model. A U code is data communication codes. Sorry to say, you could have done all this and it could have just been a bad wire.

I have a 08 Milan and it drives ok then will jerk and shut down but will restart and drive off like nothing happened. I've taken it to a mechanic and was told it was the pcm, is this true?

see PCM above....what tests were done for the pcm to diagnose it. The TPS or PPS are also possible causes of your malady. (throttle position sensor and pedal position sensor.)
Don't like to second guess a man who may have had the vehicle on his OBD reader. Was the car plugged in and codes checked?
Powertrain control module

visit link above for information on the PCM...see what you think

I would ask what code the pcm had thrown up

Also...there may be a problem with the PCM on that model, there are numerous repairers around...your man may be kosher

I have a 2008 Ford F-150 4x4 , 5.4 litre engine and the battery light came on so I had it diagnosed and was told to replace the alternator . It caused multiple trouble codes to come on as well so I...

The signal for charging system goes from the generator to the PCM, then to the instrument panel gauge. If that signal is lost or the PCM is sending a false signal the light will come on. Unfortunately, there is no way to check that without a Ford IDS scanner through a dealer. It may have a bad wire or bad PCM. I have seen loose terminals or broken wires from wiring connector at alternator. I would definitely check there before going to a dealer though.

PO508

why say that is false, its not, the PCM does tests, and if they fail
they are truth, for sure. only why it fails matters.
some fails are indirect
why replace the most expensive part first? odd that.
why not find true cause.?
the key to understanding EFI and PCMs. is to know
how they work, its just a computer , if the inputs lie the PCM messes up. if the actuator is bad, the PCM has no control of it. its bad.
the 508 code dont mean to change a part, the PCM is not human.
we do the test detailed in the FSM to find true cause.
then replace that.
so the fsm says
Idle Air Control Motor Sense Circuit Low Input and
The PCM detected the IAC Motor Sense circuit current was less than 175mA during the CCM test period. Possible Causes:
  • IAC motor driver circuit is open or shorted to ground
  • IAC motor sense circuit is open or shorted to ground
  • IAC motor is damaged or it has failed
  • PCM has failed (note its last and is 1% changes here. or none.

in simple terms,
THe PCM can not control idle, you will see that. easy, driving car.
The PCM controls this AIR valve at all times, controlling idle RPM
by adding or stubtracting AIR.
The PCM has the MONITOR (like a NANNY) that monitors the IAC at all times, (at the same time as it uses it)
its a test. it see the ISC motor current is wrong.
the IAC seems to have and OPEN COIL inside, or the connector fell off ,is corroded or the wires to it snapped.
a technician checks the IAC, carefully the FSM shows all the steps
here even to the point of measuring the coil. and other checks.

that is how it is done.
most shops gander at it and just replace it, then when it fails again, a new pCM then when it fails again, oh crud, some bloke, wired in a
stinking auto remote start to this IAC and cut the power feed to it.
$1000 later , a 10cent fix. in 1minute flat.
guessing can be expensive

Vw Jetta engine light

false When the engine light came on it is telling you that there is a serious problem occurring in the engine management system or CPU. The correct procedure is to run the fault codes to find out the faulty sensor/servo. Check coolant level at the radiator cap. Fix any faults and then have a code reader used to reset the engine light

I was told today that i have a code 0420 oxy sencor. true false. The issue is I am eating gas.

Sounds true. The oxygen sensor regulates the fuel air (oxygen) mix for optimum performance with the least amount of fuel. If the oxy sensor malfunctions you'll get the incorrect fuel/air mix and waste fuel. Some vehicles see a 10% increase in fuel use with a bad O2 sensor.

I have a ford f 250 with dtc code p0606, Internal Ctrl Mod Kam Error, what is wrong and how do I correct or fix

There is no P0606? P0602, P0603 or P0605. P0603 KAM interrupt can be a blown fuse or low battery, P0605 can be aftermarket chip / programing or PCM failure (diesels do have a reprogram for false P0605). P0602 is usually a PCM failure.
