Question about 2003 Cadillac Seville

1 Answer

2003 Cadillac Seville acts like it has a hard time shifting and wont accelerate any faster than 60 65 miles per hour I've changed the rear coil pack, MAP sensor, checked the EGR valve, and it seems to run a little warm it runs about half way up the gauge, sometimes you hear a gurgling noise when I park (coming from where you put the radiator fluid) ran on board diagnostics and got DDM. B3832 Current and PCM. P0101 Current the first time car was cold second time drove it for a min and ran it again and only got the DDM. B 3832. Any suggestions help please this thing is driving me crazy

Have you checked the transmission fluid level by the book? (owner's manual)? That's what it sounds like to me. Color on the dipstick should be pink. If not it may be time for a good transmission shop inspection. There is an internal filter screen that if filled, will interfear with proper operation. Check the radiator overflow with the cap off. IF you have bubbles, you may have a cylinder head gasket problem. If not, gurgles may just be the expansion of fluid into the overflow tank.
I googled DDM. B3832 you can too, sounds like nothing to do with the transmission or engine operation. You may want to go by an autoparts store and ask to read the ECU error codes if any. The transmission may have it's Own error code system. If so, transmission shop or dealer would need to review that information. If it's not the transmission, there may be a fuel delivery system problem.

Have you checked the cold start switch?

There is a cold start switch amongst the wires connected to your engine. I don't know precisely where this switch is located on this vehicle model but a car electrician will recognize this on time.

I think the cold start switch is defective that's why you vehicle is having a cold running problem.

This switch i what make your vehicle start when engine is cold.

I believe this is the problem of your vehicle.

Give it a shot and the out come might be favorable.....

My 2002 sturn SL2 is hard to start runs rough and wont go faster than 25 -30 miles per hour 2500 -3500 rpms manual shift 1.9 engine DOC

It is most probably the valve and or spark timing that need to be readjusted. Need to take it to a dealer who has the right test and tuning equipment.

Just purchased 2000 Buick LeSabre. 56,000 miles, sporadic trouble starting--sometimes starts first try, other times will crank and won't start and have to slightly depress the accelerator and then will...

If it runs rough all the time, could be a bad coil pack/wires. If just starting and hesitates on acceleration, I would suspect the throttle position sensor.

While cranking loud backfire than i restart engine again than it cranks than starts up,this happend about 6 times during 3 months. Car did same thing yesterday, but it just cranks won't start 98 olds...

Not sure if you have a 1996 Cadillac Seville or a 1998 Olds Aurora but I would check the Ignition Coil Packs. One or more of them may need to be replaced. Also if you were working on the car and got the wires plugged onto the wrong coils then the firing order sequence would not be correct and this can cause a misfire or backfire conditon.

Ignition wires cannot rest near the primary wire harness of the ignition module, which can cause electrical interference and a no start condition or a misfire condition

On my friends 1997 Cadillac Seville it was easy to replace all 4 coil packs took less than 30 minutes and made the car run much better. Just make sure to get the firing order right. If necessary find a diagram of the correct firing order for you vehicle.

A good place for mail order auto parts is

I have pasted a picture below of what an ignition coil pack looks like

Car is turning over, but slow to start It acts like it wants to fire up and doesn't right off . it will starts, but takes about 7 to 10 seconds after turning the key and holding it . Have changed fuel...

I would check your coil pack is working correctly, then that your spark plug gaps are the right distance, then change your plug leads & check the points.....

I hope this helps....

Where are the ignition coil packs and how do I remove them?

The coil packs sit on top the the engine. As you open the hood toward the rear of the engine you will see four cokl packs sitting on the engine. There are 3 10mm bolts holding the bracket that holds all the coil packs. You can remove them all at once (easier) or try to remove coil packs one at a time.

1996 Cadillac Seville started shifting hard all of a sudden

Sounds like an internal problem. To be sure you will have to drop the transmission pan and check the color o fthe fluid. It should be pink. If it is white then you are going to have to get the transmission rebuilt.
