Not all engines have a timing chain or belt, some are gear driven and are encased in a metal housing and lubricated by engine oil.

Timming chain has play in it wont crank


your timing chain tensioner is loose, or broken. Its not good to run the truck like that. If the timing chain is sloppy, the motor is not in rythum spark plugs ignite when the are not supposed too etc. Good luck, if your changing it yourself, I can walk you through the proceedure

Generally G6 doesn't have a timing belt but they do have chain.

Timming problems for 88 toyota 4runner


could be the valves try adjusting them and set the timing by crossing over the ignition terminals behind the battry there is a little black box with atop that comes of look in the book for the actual termilal numbers is about 4 of them. hope this helps
