Truck backfires when going up a hill and loses power, makes noise like a busted tail pipe. Took it to a muffler shop and was told it was my converters. Is this a posibility?

The advice is spot on, Most important to find the cause, often a misfiring plug can cause this. the converter runs at a very hot temp , any unburned fuel increases the temp and causes a melt down of the core.

A clogged catalytic converter will rob power - absolutely! You'll probably need to have it replaced and find the reason for clogging. Many times it can be due to a crack or separation in the exhaust system ahead of the O2 sensor(s), This causes the computer to modify the fuel : air mixture which passes more unburned fuel to enter the cat converter. Eventually, all this unburned fuel blocks the cat converter and exhaust from passing. Look for a hole or crack in pipes or exhaust manifold - the car may run loud for the first few minutes when cold to indicate such a break.

Hello Jamal, I had a catalytic converter go bad. I took it to a muffler shop. They put the car on a hoist while engine was running and used a cutting torch to blow a small hole before and after the converter to compare back pressures. My converter was plugged up .

If I have a chevy 2500 with 2.5in pipe and I put 3.5in pipe does it make it louder

yes, it will make it louder, but it will cause you to lose some power and can lead to valve damage in the heads.
If you are after a louder sound, I would add in flowmaster 40 series mufflers and slightly larger tail pipe ends.

How do I remove a stuck muffler on a 1977 Ford F150? All of the clamps that connects the exhaust pipe and tail pipe to the muffler were removed.

You should use a hacksaw or sawzall. There is no way you are going to get it off by pulling a piece, by hand, that has been heat welded for 33 years of normal operation. Or just take it to a muffler shop.
Recently I bought my own muffler and catalytic converter and the muffler shop only charged me $60 to take the old ones out and put the new ones in.

2003 dodge 2500 diesel backfires and destroys

Well, usually when a proper running vehicle backfires through the exhaust its caused by an excess in fuel building up in the pipe and igniting. Some newer diesle trucks will spray fuel into the exhaust to clean the emissions and reduce smoke coming out of the tail pipe. You could have a bent or sticking valve that is allowing extra fuel out into the exhaust, or when it went to clean the exhaust (If your model does that) the exhaust might not have been hot enough to ignite the fuel until you put a load on it causing the exhaust temp to jump igniting all the fuel in the tail pipe.
