Question about Cars & Trucks
Please help! Had engine bearings replaced along w/new battery about a year ago. Car then began stalling when coming to a stop IF the A/C was on - have since had it to shop additional 4 times, to check for vacuum leaks or possible cause - no engine codes (Engine Light on, along with ABS light - both of which have remained on since car was purchased from original owner 3 yrs ago - have 'em cleared, they come back within matter of days.) replaced battery AGAIN - same issue, only began stalling even with A/C off! Back to shop for new alternator (still no codes) within 2 miles, stalling issue present again - and even after lights cleared, they came back, w/friends, ABS light, Battery Light & NOW "GASCAP" warning - however has been checked NO issue w/gascap & other lights won't stay off...cleaned Idle Throttle Bottle, seemed to slightly improve rough idling & doesn't stall as FREQUENTLY (as long as A/C is off) but still happening & now w/these new warning lights & still no codes....please help, I cant keep throwing $ at this & am worried about taking the kids in this car!

What are you using to read the codes? When a light comes on it will set a code or put the codes in the history code file. If any light comes on, then goes off after you turn it off then back on, it goes to history. And if this is happening, you have a bad ground wire somewhere. Check the battery to engine, battery to body and engine to body to start with. Any missing add new ones. Then you will have a few other grounds on the engine or transmission depending one year make and model. Just a note.. The engine to body ground is usually the first to break. It could be a wire or cable.
