Hello, my ? Is what should I look for or listen out for if my power steering module on my 2007 Chevy Malibu V6 might be in ? Of going out , due to the severe shaking of my steering wheel, while driving and sitting still. It seems the car wants to do its own thing and go its own direction

SOURCE: My 2006 Malibu steering wheel is going bad.

The power steering is electric on that car. It has a electric motor on the column, and a control module. There are several causes that could be the problem. You need to have it scanned to get a better idea of what to do. If you can give me the codes you get then I will be glad to advise you on what's best. Good Luck

SOURCE: I need to add power steering fluid on my 2006

You will want to verify you have hydraulic power steering. Electronic power steering was an option on Malibu's and this may be why you cannot find the reservoir. The power steering pump would be driven by the belt in the event you have a hydraulic system. Thus making it easy to locate.

If the car has power steering, there will be a reservoir somewhere under there. On your car the reservoir is physically attached to the power steering pump. See photo attached.

Power Steering warning light and then loose power steering. Chevy Malibu 2007

It's either the pump or the belt or both. It could be as easy as checking the level of your power steering fluid but if this isn't the case then you can always just go and get a repair manual and start on one of these two issues. I highly doubt that your lines have deteriorated in the last 3 or 4 years.
