You have some relay switches in the a/c unit, but before you do anything else call you local auto parts store and see if the have a cen-tech trilingual code reader, this device talks to the computer tells the auto parts person witch part you need to buy and save you money and time.

If you still have the owners manual. Look up the relay for the A/C. Pull the relay. Start the car and put a ire/jump the two big tabs in the box. This will kick on the A/C compressor. If it starts blowing cold air, the high pressure switch or the controller could be bad. (most likely the switch) If it still doesn't blow cold, check the lines going to the fire wall, one should be cold and could frost over(normal) and the other should be warm to hot. If both lines are warm, you are low on freon. If they are cold and hot, the blend door motor isn't working. Could be the motor or controller.

Heres a picture of the under hood panel, but it is for a 2002 Taurus.

  • Terry Parker Mar 27, 2015

    I have my manual thanks.

  • Terry Parker Mar 27, 2015

Okay the air got cooler not cold. , but I also when it did it I put more freon in it.

  • Terry Parker Mar 27, 2015

I put freon in when it first happened I may have over charge it. If I replace the fuse what should I do next.

  • Randy Ohler Mar 28, 2015

If you over charge it, one line under the hood will freeze up. A Good sign you have enough freon is that one line will start to sweat/drip water, a little frost on it is OK around the dryer.(big aluminium canister) If the dryer frosts over, it is overcharged. You need to at least buy a low side pressure gauge and put it on the car. Low and high pressure tells everything about the A/C system. Low presure should be 30 to 45 pounds, depending on the outside temperature. All auto parts stores sell them, usually with a can of freon. I need some numbers. But do check the fuse, pull it and look at it, if it is not blown put it back in and recheck. Corrosion will stop things from working.

SOURCE: 2001 Ford Taurus battery dead, recharged and now

look at the front of the a/c compressor when the system is turned on and see if the clutch is engaging. there is a plug there for that assy. otherwise, check the fuse box.

SOURCE: 2008 honda pilot a/c is not blowing cold air,

the most common problem with honda and acura is the magnetic clutch failure on the compressor , test to see if you are getting power to the clutch assembly with the car runningand the A/C on max if you have power the compressure clutch is bad if you don't ck the compressure fuse and or the clutch relay.

SOURCE: my 2007 Aveo a/c blowing hot air, the freon level is full and the compressor is kicking on but only blowing hot air

sound to me like either your heater core needs replacing or your heater matrix needs replacing, both can be found at breakers yards for a few bucks but i warn you they are an absolute pig to fit, get a haynes or chiltons manual for the car & study it carefully before attempting to replace either or both.

Defroster fan blows but no hot air comes out

If the heat blows hot, the defrost should also. If the heat does not blow hot air, it could be your thermostat, your heater core valve, or the heater core itself. with the vehicle being a 2002, the heater core is the least likely.

The interior air of my 2002 taurus is blowing warm, instead of hot, air unless I'm sitting at idle for a while. Both hoses to the heater core are hot....what could be causing this?

I had this simular problem on a customers Taurus and found that the heater core was slightley pluged up. She was tight on cash and was able to blow it out with a few bursts of air through the heater hose inlet. If this is your problem be shure to unhook both hoses first. Hope this helps

Ford ka heater blows hot air all the time

Taurus does not use a heater control valve. It runs coolant thru the heater core constantly. You may have a temp blend door actuator problem or a plugged up heater core is also very common. Feel the heater hoses, they should both be very hot, it one is much cooler; you can try to back flush the core.
