Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
You didnt have it diagnosed very well. When REDUCED POWER message comes on, a fault code is stored. Take it to someone with more equipment and training who actually knows your vehicle. The specific reason behind reduced power can be caused by MANY MANY components or conditions. It needs to be checked by someone with a good quality GM scantool and knowledge of fault diagnostics. If this is a NO CODES STORED issue, then its possibly a memory or live faulting issue. Again, needs to be checked professionally with the proper equipment.
As to people suggesting CHANGE THE O2 SENSOR or CHANGE THE MAF, dont listen. Only change what is tested and bad. Otherwise you are wasting time and money.

You have some kind of ECU problem. You will need to hook to the diagnostic port to find the problem. Your vehicle has gone into limp mode. This enables the vehicle to run, but at a diminished level until you can seek help for the problem. Do not continue to drive it this way as you may cause damage to the engine depending on the nature of the problem.

Hi It me Mohammad Siddiq my dear. First of all it will be wise of use to take your vehicle to a dealership or any other fully equipped w/shop. They can better tell you what the fault your vehicle has. But at the same time if your friend has the same model vehicle so you can exchange some parts with that vegicle, e.g., Mass Air Flow or TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and can check your vehicle. These parts do not need to be programmed with scan tool. Just Simply replace these parts and switch on the ignition and wait for 01 minute, then switch off for 30 seconds and then start the engine. Now road test your vehicle, if no SES light or reduced power then there was fault with the part/s replaced. So Return those parts and now you must replace these parts with new or used ones. Anything else I may be contacted on my yahoo id email@example.com. Thanks. I am an auto technician and working in a GM dealership in Saudi Arabia. I am from Pakistan.

hi, those sound like throttle actuator codes. the throttle body on your vehicle should be an electronically controlled unit without wires to control actual acceration an deceleration. now, there is also an electronic switch called a potentiometer on the gas pedal that transmits signal to the throttle body to tell it what to do. most of the time, the throttle body is what goes bad here. you should also check the wiring to the unit for bad connection by wiggling the wire connector and seeing if the reduced engine power light comes on. if this happens, you will likely have to replace the wiring pigtail and the throttle body. but, in some cases, the gas pedal switch goes bad, and likely what is not allowing the transmission to shift out of park, the pcm may lock out the solenoid controlling the shifter. but, don't just run with that answer, it maybe completely wrong. i have seen more throttle bodies and wiring harnesses go bad than gas pedal switches in those vehicles. but you might want to have a shop diagnose further, it may even be two unrelated problems, or in the powertrain computer itself.

this model has what they call fly by wire.. no accelerator cable. If the computer detects a problem in the thottle system it will not allow the engine to accelerate and will show reduced power and possibly set a check engine light. The dealer usually wants to replace the throttle assembly which is very expensive and usually un nessesary.
I have had a lot of succes with just cleaning the throttle plates real good.
