With over 12 years of driving, you could absolutely have build up in your cooling system, that a flush would provide beneficial results! Check out the site below and get the kit, which is easy to install, and the products for the flush, then get the mfg'rs recommended coolant for your Jeep. Doing it yourself is always less cost! But, you can also take it to your local oil change facility, and they can do it quickly but at a cost! Amazon com Radiator flush

Is it running hot all the time or just in town driving? There are a few things that it could possibly be...the thermostat may be defective and not opening, the temperature sensor is defective or there is an issue with the radiator. With the radiator cap off, can you see the water moving in the radiator??

runs hot (state proof of that, evidence) there are many, and will it overheat moving on flat ground at say 40mph? or just at stops signs.? my guess is you listed your guesses for oveheat., and it still does. overheat with A/C off? does fan work in rear of radiator, is rad cap new, is coolant low in side RAD?

Is the electric radiator fan coming on when the engine gets warm? If not, it's a big problem, the car will run normally as long as its moving faster than 35-40 mph (ram air keeps it cool) but will overheat in stop-and-go, at stop lights, etc.

The fan itself can fail, as can the fan relay. Certain computer board and sensor failures can cause the same symptoms but its not as common. Check for voltage at the fan when the car has reached normal operating temperature, to isolate.

2002 jeep liberty heat only works at high rpm

Sounds like low flow issue. Flush and clean system, PROPERLY! Buy a flush kit, drain system, blow compressed air through, fill with cleaner/water mix, run for 30 min with heat on, drain system, blow out with compressed air, fill with water, run for 30 min, drain, blow out with compressed air, fill with 60% coolant mix.

My 2002 jeep liberty heater blows cold air when it should be hot any ideas?

Coolant level could be low. Might need a new thermostat. If the coolant level is low you likely have other issues. Check back here if that's the case. I hope this helps..

I have a 2002 jeep liberty and the check engine light stays on constantly. I ran the codes on it which said that it was the gas cap, but that was not it. I have changed it twice. Also, the A/C and heater does not work on it. What could be the problem?
