Only way to know for sure (is to check system with AC pressure hoses attached. Oh, and check that compressor clutch is engaging and disengaging as it runs( loud clicking noise on compressir and clutch disk spins)
Is it closer to the back of the vehicle or the front?Possibly the fuel pump. Try opening the gas tank and stick your ear close to the intake of the tank while someone turns the key.
You'd better take it back to them... they missed something. Better yet, I suggest you take it to another Chrysler dealer and take your service receipt with you - those other guys may have left a clue in what they had to say about the problem and what they did.
If this noise is a clicking sound and is coming from the front center of the dash, then it may be the blender door motor which will require removal of the dash to replace it. It will keep the door from switching from heat to a/c. Does the odor smell like you have a freon leak in your a/c evaporator core or does it smell like a rat stuck in your heater and a/c ducts?
Yes, your theory sounds right. You'll need to remove the blower motor or a cover on it to visualize the squirrel cage and remove whatever is causing the noise. In some vehicles there is a cover under the hood, which when removed, will allow you to inspect the blower housing. If no such cover, you'll need to remove the blower motor.
If the noise going away every time u turning off the ac it's probably your ac compressor belt.however i will suggest to take some vaseline and rub it all over the exposed parts of your drive belt.
