Can't shift in to first gear only. All other gears are fine.

This is a common issue with the o2j/o2m transmissions. due to miss shifts or loose linkage.


the easiest fix for this is to shift from reverse to 2nd over and over. then try to force it into first gear. it will be very difficult sometimes to do but it will go. once you get it in first it will be very hard to move, but you will just have to keep shifting from first to second over and over and it will begin to loosen up. make sure you are doing this with the engine off.

the second way to do this if the first fails is to have the shift linkage adjusted.
