I own a 2006 hyundai sonata, and my parking lights come on after i have shut lights and car off. when i walk away from my car after i turn the car off, the lights are off but when i come back out later the parking lights are on or the car is dead because of the parking lights turning back on. i don't know if a wire or crossed up or what not... any suggestions on what the matter could be?

There are a few ideas here. The car shouldn't start in neutral, it should only start in Park and with foot on the brake. The are a number of sensors, switches and modules that make this happen. Take it to the dealership.

try the spare key and if still no joy then its a new new steering lock complete and you have to cut it off with a angle grinder and a big hammer and chisel

make sure on your shifter that if your shifter indicator is all the way in the parking position and that if it lights up that the parking spot is lite.

Make sure all door switches are functioning properly. See that each switch pushes in and out, without sticking.

Sounds like switch.

Check grounds and connections at battery 1st.Also may have alternator not putting out correctly.

reach in from either under the hood. Turn and pull out harness and bulb, replace and reinstall

There is a switch that should shut these off when the front door is opened. Have the dealer fix under warranty.
