Own one of these and had to replace both the hi pressure and return lines for the hydrulic rack and pinoin steering unit. The hoses are cramed directly under the motor towards the rear. It was a challenge!

How do you replace a oil pan on a 1985 Ford Tempo Do you have to remove engine?

u should not have to remove pan. if the seal is leaking just replace. when u loosen the bolts it will provide enough room to replace gasket.
if you really have to replace the pan. you have to loosen the motor mounts and jack up the engine a little. be very careful!!!!

Engine Oil Leak

Crankshaft oil seals
Camshaft oil seals
Rocker cover gasket
Sump gasket
Power steering Pump
Power steering rack/box
If you cant find the leak give the engine a good wash down , makes it easier to spot the leak.

Oil pan leak

JB Weld should work, however, I would recommend actually replacing it or bringing it into a shop for a more permanent fix. The JB Weld will probably only work for a short time and you are better off not taking a risk when it comes to oil, since not enough oil can lead to a siezed engine.
