Rattling noise that stops when you push in clutch also cluch peddle has been hard to push in since clutch replaced a year ago

Whenever you hear a tap, rattle or thumping noise take to a mechanic or someone who knows cars you do not want to blow a rod through the block. It could be starting to freeze take it in!

replace the clutch master cylinder. The rubbers on the piston swell over time and/ or break down blocking up the ports in the cylinder.. Wrong fluid is the main culprit for this type of fault.

those trucks had problems with the fire wall breaking .have some one push the clutch pedle and watch the fire wall from under the hood were the clutch master cylinder bolts too if the fire wall moves u need to buy the repaire kit from ford.

Truck makes loud noise unless clutch is pushed in

chances are the adjustment of the throwout bearing fork is the problem . because of vibration that is the rattling that you are hearing. correct adjustment should be as follows.

#1...peddle travle should be no more than 1 1/2 inches

#2...the clearance between throw out bearing and fork no more than 1/2 inch

#3...clearance between fork and fork stops is 1/8 inch

also there should be grease zerts in the shaft that holds the fork and linkage make sure they are not dry of grease...please rate the solution....thanks
