Corrosion at the battery cables first. After that, remove the alarm system. Fix the wires as you go.

SOURCE: 2009 dodge durango will not start

it could be that the theft system has something to do with it .it proably that the ignition system has a device in the module the locks the system up when the theft system has been activated you should have the dealer check the ignition system or the theft system check.

If it clicks it could be a bad solenoid in the starter Also check for dirty or loose battery cables on both ends . they will do that as well.
You could try and tap the starter lightly with a hammer. while turning the key because it could be stuck but that's not likely. but has happened before.

If i had to guess i would say its the sensor/switch on the back of the key cylinder, located in the outer door handle.

1997 dodge caravan all gages lights up, radio works but won't start

Does the van have an anti-theft system ?
If so you may need to reset it.
If not, a mechanic would check for voltage at the starter, the neutral safety switch, and the key switch.

I am having trouble starting my 1997 Dodge Caravan. It keeps rolling over, but takes about two minutes to actually start.

try turning key on and off 2or 3 times then see if it starts right up. if it is there is a check valve in the fuel pump. it cant be replaced. you would have to replace the whole sending unit. costs about $600.00

Keyless remote stopped working, I replaced battery

The 1997 to 2003 Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan use a standard key and remote setup with a separate remote fob. However, the 2004 to 2009 Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan use a combination key and remote on one device. To program a new keyless entry remote for the 1997 to 2003 Dodge Caravan, you must have at least one functional remote, which is required to enter synchronization mode. To program the combination key for the 2004 to 2009 Dodge Caravan, you must have two functional combination keys. If you do not, you'll need to see an authorized Dodge dealer for keyless entry programming assistance.

2004 to 2009 Caravan Programming Instructions
  1. Insert one of your working combination keys into the ignition. Turn it to "On"; leave it in this position for about 10 seconds but no longer than 15 seconds. Turn it to "Off" and remove it.
  2. Insert your second working combination key into the ignition within 15 seconds of removing the previous key. Turn it to "On". After 10 seconds, you'll hear a chime and the "Theft" light will begin to flash, entering synchronization mode. Turn the key to "Off" and remove it.
  3. Insert the combination key you want to program. Turn it to "On." After 10 seconds, you'll hear a chime; then the "Theft" light will turn off. When the light turns off, the combination key--including the key and the remote--is programmed.
  4. Repeat Step Three for each combination key you want to program. A total of eight can be programmed.
Hope this help (remember comment and rated).
