I have an abused pajero 1995. Re-worked the engine. The drive light does not come on when its in drive. if I put it in drive and accelerate the clutch start slipping, but if I put it in 2nd I can accelerate to 60 then change it over to drive and it will be perfect even in overdrive.

SOURCE: hard shift and blinking overdrive

The blinking overdrive button is telling u that a serious fault has occurred in the electronic controls or a mechanical fault such as excess slippage is occurring.

Check both O2 sensor(s) and catalytic coverter.. P0420 means catalyst below threshold. Also check the sensor at the transmission and solenoid.

well the low cost way to go first would be to try and change the trans fluids. If the problems still remains the it may be an internal problem

my overdrive light is flashing due to a shattered speedo cable tip. check your fluid level. you may have to change the tranny filer and redo all the fluid.
