Count the multi-grooves on each pulley. Mine had six on one and more on the alternator. Changed to the six grove belt and end of story. Yes the alternator had one extra grove but works great.

Good Luck

1979 Leocraft motorhome / 454 chevy / power steering pump brake booster issue

I would suspect the water pump, power steering noises are usually grinding sounds. Also if the belts shredded check behind ALL the pulleys for the reinforcing strands from the belts. Basing this on general car problems , not any actual Chevy.

A belt keeps slipping off and the power steering no longer works.

Check to see that no bolts or mounting brackets are loose causing the power steering pump to be out of alignment with the rest of the pulleys. When replacing the belt make sure it is seated correctly on the pulley because if it is one ridge off it will cause the belt to shred very quickly.

My 97 dodge voguer belts don't spin but the car can still drive what is wrong?

Hi:
If your engine is running, but no belts are moving, you either have a belt broken, or the tensioner is broken. You need to have this fixed ASAP, as your vehicle wont have power steering or charging.

How to replace the power steering pulley on dodge caravan 1998

There is a special puller that needs to be purchased along with a chain wrench which holds the pulley while unscrewing the hold down nut or bolt, use a length of an old leather belt wrapped around the pulley to protect the grooves in the pulley surface or the belts will be shredded after a week of use. set the puller on the inner ring on the face of pulley make sure the puller purchased is compatable with your vehicle.

Both Serpentine belts

The power steering pump will have a tensioner you need to loosen. Then for the other belt. There is a tensioner located on the pass side. You can see it if you look down the pass side of the engine.
