SOURCE: Service Traction System Light on 2003 Chev Impala

on the rotors you probably noticed two lines one for the brakes and the other is your traction control magnet which picks up a signal to tell the computer to control the braking system when the wheel locks up in hard braking, you either damaged the magnet or it picked up some metal shaving while replacing the brake pads

SOURCE: 2005 impala ls the abs light and the traction control light comes

You'll need to have the codes read from the computer. You will have a code that indicates one of the front wheel sensors is bad. This could be the case, but they are very expensive as they are built into the wheel bearing assemblies. It is more likely that the wiring harness between the frame and the part of the front spindle that holds the harness, has broken internally. It is a very common problem and can be repaired with a new wiring harness section or by tracking down the fault and repairing it.

SOURCE: my 2002 impala's service traction control light

Traction control only works when one wheel is spinning faster than the other it trys to even them out so it wont spin...sometimes if one of the wheels come off the ground in an uneven area or if you take a turn too fast and one wheel turns when the other one dont it is designed to operate.
I would remove all wheels and check the braking system...Is it 4 wheel disc or rear drum ?
If it has rear drums you could have a wheel cylinder leak that will sometimes lock the wheel because of fluid contamination....This would cause both lights to come on...If you find no problems
sometimes the abs sensor builds up fragments on the magnet and makes the light come on...
or if the abs sensor is not close enough to the exciter ring it will make the light come on because it will be out of adjustment.....all you do is press the sensor inward until it barely touches the ring and it will adjust itself....You can sometimes clean the magnet if it is contaminated and make the light go off ( only after you reach 6 to 15 mph. it will go off ).If it dont go off you have to buy a sensor.
Also make sure all tires have same amount and plenty of air to keep vehicle in balance/level.

SOURCE: The following lights keep coming

These are WARNING lights! They are trying to warn you that there is a malfunction in your brake and traction control systems. The most common problem would be that one of your wheel speed sensors are not working properly. The only way to find out for sure is to access the computer system data and find out why it has been turning the lights on. (There will be fault codes stored in memory)

CodeC0550 on 2009 chevy hhr what does it mean? Light Service Traction And Serice ECS ??

DTC C0550 00: EEPROM Checksum Mismatch . Your best bet , take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.
Circuit/System Description
When the ignition is turned ON, the microprocessor runs a diagnostic program to detect an internal fault when power up is commanded. If an internal malfunction is detected, the control module will store a DTC C0550 in its memory.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets
If equipped, the following module specific actions may occur:
• The antilock brake system (ABS) indicator turns ON.
• The BRAKE warning indicator turns ON.
• The electronic brake control module (EBCM) disables the ABS/dynamic rear proportion (DRP)/traction control system (TCS).
• The driver information center (DIC) displays the power steering warning message No Steering Assist.
• The TCS indicator turns ON.

06 buick lucerne wonr crank key wont turn to off position shifter stuck in park

Define won't crank ? I'am assuming the key will turn to the start position ! When doing so does the starter spin the engine or not ? Trying to define your problem of won't crank . If when you turn the key to start position an the starter spins the engine over but doesn't start an run , this is a cranks no start condition . If nothing happens when you turn the key to start , this is a no crank no start condition . Your vehicle has a safety system , shift interlock , won't let it shift out of park if the brake pedal isn't pressed . Won't let the key turn off either . Electronics involved , locking solenoid's etc.... Floor or column shift ?
The automatic transmission shift lock control system is a safety device that prevents an inadvertent shift out of PARK when the engine is running. The driver must press the brake pedal before moving the shift lever out of the PARK position. The system consists of the following components:
• The automatic transmission shift lock solenoid (serviced as the automatic transmission shift lock actuator), as well as the body control module (BCM) and the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM). The shift lock solenoid is located within the floor shift control assembly with vehicles equipped with floor shift.
• The BCM controls the voltage supply circuit of the shift lock control solenoid. The following conditions must be before the BCM will supply voltage to the shift lock control solenoid.
The BCM controls the voltage to the shift lock control solenoid through the shift lock control solenoid controlled voltage circuit. The following conditions must be met before the BCM will supply voltage to the shift lock solenoid:
• The ignition is in the ON position.
• The ECM/PCM sends an input via GMLAN serial data to the BCM indicating the transmission is in the PARK position.
• The BCM determines the brake pedal is applied according the brake pedal position.
Since the shift lock control solenoid is permanently grounded, the BCM supplies voltage to the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid, mechanically unlocking the shift lever allowing the driver to move the shift lever out of the PARK position as the solenoid energizes. When the brake pedal is not applied, the BCM turns the control voltage output of the shift lock control solenoid OFF, de-energizing the shift lock control solenoid. The de-energized solenoid mechanically locks the shift lever in the PARK position.
During remote start operation, the BCM will de-energize the shift lock control circuit, locking the shift lever in the PARK position.

Plus the reverse lock out !
The reverse lockout system is a safety feature which prevents an inadvertent shift into reverse at speeds above 5 km/h (3 mph). The system consists of the following components:
• The engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM)
• The reverse lockout solenoid
With the ignition ON, battery voltage is supplied directly to reverse lockout solenoid. At forward speeds above 5 km/h (3 mph), the ECM/PCM commands the reverse lockout solenoid ON by grounding the control circuit of the solenoid. This energizes the solenoid and mechanically prevents the shift lever from being moved into the REVERSE position. At forward speeds below 5 km/h (3 mph), the ECM/PCM commands the reverse lockout solenoid OFF, de-energizing the solenoid, which allows the shift lever to move into the REVERSE position.

Power Mode Master
This vehicles BCM functions as the power mode master (PMM). The ignition switch is a low current switch with multiple discrete ignition switch signals to the PMM for determination the power mode that will be sent over the serial data circuits to the other modules that need this information, and so the PMM will activate relays and other direct outputs of the PMM as needed. Refer to Power Mode Description and Operation for a complete description of power mode functions.
You have no clue of the electronics in your vehicle , your best bet have it towed to the Buick dealer .

2010 impala no gear indicator no crank no start

The gear indicator is a electonic signal from the PCM / ECM which ever engine computer your vehicle has . A message is sent over the GMLAN serial data network . Do you know what C.A.N. is ? controller area net work . In fact all the thing's on your instrument cluster , speedometer , fuel gauge , temp., ABS , traction control , plus the starting is the samething . The ignition switch is a input to the BCM - body control module . When it see's voltage from ignition switch it sends a message via data bus to the engine computer which in turn will energize the starter relay cranking the engine . There is nothing you can or should do to try and fix this yourself . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop . (dealer ) Because not knowing these systems you can render your vehicle none fixable . How to Diagnose Controller Area Network CAN

Gear shift Selector stuck

These were known for having faulty brake light switche that would cause that problem as well as cruise control inop. I would check that first. It operates the shift-lock solenoid which releases the shifter. There were also some problems with the ignition switches, but mostly on the gm cars.

Why does my traction off light come on?

You either have a problem with your engine control system, the traction control system, or you are not in the correct gear. See the explaination below. This is from the 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier Owner's Manual.

TRAC-OFF LIGHT

... If you turn the system off by moving the shift lever

to FIRST (1) or SECOND (2), the warning light will

come on and stay on. To turn the system back on,

move the shift lever back to a position other than

FIRST (1) or SECOND (2). The warning light

should go off. (See "Enhanced Traction System"

in the Index for more information.)

The warning light will come on when you set your

parking brake with the engine running, and it will

stay on if your parking brake doesn't release fully.

If the transaxle shift lever is in any position other

than FIRST (1) or SECOND (2) and the warning

light stays on after your parking brake is fully

released, it means there's a problem with the system.

If the traction control system is affected by an

engine-related problem, the system will turn off

and the warning light will come on.

If the Enhanced Traction System warning light comes

on and stays on for an extended period of time when the

transaxle shift lever is in any position other than FIRST
(1) or SECOND (2) your vehicle needs service.

Left the keys in the ignition adn had AAA jump it. Now the T/C with a slash through it came on and the light that says low engine power. The car starts really rough and has no power when u drive it. WHats...

T/C light = Traction Control

Could be something going on with a wheel speed sensor. You'll have to have the ABS/TCS controller scanned for any stored trouble codes to see why the controller is turning on the light. The code(s) might help you to determine what part of the system is faulting. You'll have to take it to a shop that has a high end scan tool.

If the TC light is on, chances are there is a trouble code set and stored in the computer. You need to determine what the code is. If you take the car to a nationally recognized parts store, most will scan the computer for free, so there is no money out of pocket for you.

Actron also makes a ABS code checker called BrakeScan. Don't know how good it is, but it might be good for a DIY person.

TC Explanation:

If your vehicle is equipped with the Enhanced Traction System (ETS), this warning light should come on briefly as you start the engine. If the warning light does not come on, then have it fixed so it will be ready to warn you if there is a problem.
If the warning light stays on, or comes on when you are driving, there may be a problem with your Enhanced Traction System and your vehicle may need service. When this warning light is on, the system will not limit wheel spin. Adjust your driving accordingly.
The Enhanced Traction System warning light may come on for the following reasons:
• If you turn the system off by moving the shift lever to FIRST (1), the warning light will come on and stay on. To turn the system back on, move the shift lever back to a position other than FIRST (1). The warning light should go off. • The warning light will come on when you set your parking brake with the engine running, and it will stay on if your parking brake does not release fully. If the transaxle shift lever is in any position other than FIRST (1) and the warning light stays on after your parking brake is fully released, it means there is a problem with the system. • If the traction control system is affected by an engine-related problem, the system will turn off and the warning light will come on. If the Enhanced Traction System warning light comes on and stays on for an extended period of time when the transaxle shift lever is in any position other than FIRST (1), your vehicle needs service.

Engine shutdown while driving, check engine light on plus check advance trac warning and light on. Will not crank. Power at starter, will crank when jumped to solonoid. Starter relay in fuse block...

Try turning the advance-trac off. If you have a systems menu (Should be right side of Speedo) you have options for Park assist, bells ,chimes and so on. One selection is the Traction. The traction assist works by throttling down the engine when it detects a difference in rotation from 1 wheel to the next.

You need a scan for the codes but your hunk of metal is not able to go to Autozone or Oreillys until you start it.

You may also want to try to enter the keyless entry code in the door keypad in case the antitheft is upset. Your alarm may block the ignition.

Defeating the traction control and alarm system may get you going.
