96 should be abs equipped, if only in the rear. Please verify the info is correct...

I replaced main brake line on driver side on 2000 1500 Dodge Ram pick up blead all brakes at each caliper no air present. Driven around six hour but abs and brake light still on.

If there is an ABS issue it will turn on the red brake light as well. Were these lights on before the repair? You can try disconnecting the battery to see if the ABS resets. If the lights come back on you will have to have a scan test performed on the ABS system to isolate the problem

WHY DOES MY ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON?

brake and abs light check brake fluid level. The round float in the master cylinder directly controls the 2 dash lights.
The light is NOT directly controlled by the master cylinder float. The light is controlled by the ABS Module, which location depends on your vehicle. There are a number of different reasons the lights come on. If it comes on but shuts back off within seconds, don't worry about it, that occasionally happens when it gets a bad signal ("nonlatching error"). In rear-wheel-drive (RWD) vehicles, it is common for the differential speed sensor in the rear differential to go bad. You can pick up a Haynes manual to find if you can do at-home diagnostics (Temporarily grounding out the diagnostic lead will cause the ABS light to flash out a pattern indicating the error)

Check the Brake Pressure switch ( also known as SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH ) which is located below the Brake fluid master cylinder for leakage. The leakage can cause both lights to stay on and also cruise control control not working

Why does my abs light and brake light stay on

This usually happens when it is time for a brake job. Other than that it could be indication of an ABS system malfunction that needs repaired.

I Have a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500.Both the ABS and Brake Lights are on

Hi!!

Did you have the ABS sensors checked ?? The brake fluid level when low also activates the Brake and ABS lights?? Drive truck to an AutoZone store and ask to have computer codes scanned. This is a free service for all customers. This will help you to pinpoint the problem.

Good Luck!!

1996 dodge dakota Abs and brake light stay on all the time on the dash board. which module needs to be replaced??

On a Dodge when you have a problem with the anti-lock brake system or the hydraulic brake system it turns both lights on. You need to have your truck inspected to find out which one has the problem.

2002 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Brake & ABS lights stay on

I would still be suspect of the ABS module. Had the same thing happen on an 01 Tahoe.

Search the web for an ABS repair facility located in Russia, IA. They repair the module for $150.00 and give a 5 year warranty, which you can't get from the factory.
And, their website has troubleshooting guides to help you determine if for certain the module is bad or has a probelm.

You can remove the module and continue to drive the vehicle. Their turn around is as they state, and once I had them make the repiars, my Tahoe has been up and running great!
