Not the Onstar. You have an amp in it that needs rewired. Color code for wires are so different. I use an ohm meter to fix the problem. Just a note. Onstar does't work after this.
Bose Amps Are Very Propriatory ie: wire very Different, with special ends--They Can Be Replaced--However Will Cost More Than Worth--You Can Get OEM Amp From Salvage Yard--Which Is Much More Cost Effective. If Bose Speakers Are Present. Sound Quality Will Be Very Poor Or Nil If You Bypass Amp.
I just built a factory amplifier/crossover bypass adapter for my 2002 Chevy Tahoe Z71 (non-Bose system). This adapter will allow the full range of audio directly from your head unit to the door speakers. Without this adapter, the factory amplifier will cut out much of the bass / low frequency audio to the door speakers. This adapter will continue to provide an audio signal to the factory amplifier for the rear factory subwoofer and cargo area pillar speakers.

This is what the end result looks like. It is a 100% non-destructive adapter than can be installed or removed from the Tahoe at any time. It just plugs in between the factory wiring harness and the factory amplifier.

sound like the head unit's out put mosfet is going bad, but i have also ran in to this problem when it was a speaker wires shorting out. so first check the connection on your rear speakers.
In the yukon it has preamplify,if you disconnect stock stereo the amp is not workind unless you know how to find it. You gotta let the car-toy hook it up for you.
