Where is the blade when switch is off? Some of the GM cars in the 2000 years had problems with the post where the wiper arm attaches. The post will strip the groves when trying to move heavy snow. You will have to remove the arm, and reinstall it when the wiper switch is off.

Driver side wind sheild wiper not working - passenger side wiper okay. driver side moves a little.

You have an assembly of arms that hook to motor one for each side sounds like your left one has come loose or is at least slipping you will have to remove the crowl panel at the wipers to check .The wiper is held on by a nut. The nut is under a plastic cover at the pivot point of the wiper. Loosen the nut then align the wiper blade where it's supposed to be then tighten the nut.Its not adjusted right, remove the nut that holds your left wiper on, then pry it off the shaft, lift the wiper up all the way then just pull up straight off the shaft, then put it back on so it starts at the left lower edge of the windshield.---- First, start by checking the nut at the base of the wiper arm, if it is good and tight, then you have to remove the cowl and check the wiper linkage. If the linkage has come apart then you will have to replace the piece that has come loose.------
Getting, this possibilities checked will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Passenger side wiper does not work, but the driver side works fine. i think it broke somehow when i turned on the wipers while there was ice on the windsheild. the driver's side worked, but the ice...

When you tried to move the wiper with the ice it probably broke an inner componette and connecting rodes from motor. You'll haft to inspect the rodes and motor to know what damage is done but it you can move the wiper easily by hand it's definitly broke. If it is real hard and dont want to move it might be jammed and you might be able to move it alittle to move it back into place.

Driver side wiper doesn't work. It moves if you hold it away from windsheild. Did I strip it from frozen snow on windsheild

remove black plastic cap at base of wiper arm, tighten 14mm nut underneath cap while wipers are off and arm is in normally parked position ,replace balck plastic cap and you should be good to go!you might want to snug up the nut on the other one too!

The driver side wiper doesn't move

will try to assist. when your wipers 'on' can you see looking from outside of car at the driverside wiper,is anything moving?look really close at the wiper at bottom near the wind sheild? is anything moving?do you see the wiper trying to turn?but just does'nt grab? if you see the knob turning, but the wiper not moving, maybe the wipers not pushed down onto the gear properly. try with wipers on,push the wiper arm down,or towards windsheild. does it move then? do you see the wiper gear moving at all? wiggle the arm, does it move on it's own? if so, you need the wipers adjusted.[autozone, advance auto parts] for free. if the wiper on drivers side, the gear that drives the wipers[little round] thing that wiper arm at the bottom of winsheild does'nt turn at all, the wiper arm under the dash in disconnected. this means that the panel outside where the wipers are will need to come off and the wiper arm will need to be reconnected to the wiper motor.there is a reason the wiper arm came off in the 1st place so that will need to be dealt with. it may be a faulty keeper pin,or a faulty carter key that holds the wiper assembly to the wiper motor.i really hope that this assists you,let me know please! and if you need further assistance, please repost your questions to fixya.com!

Windsheild Wipers will not move, the arm seems to be slipping on the motor shaft,

It sounds like you live in a climate were snow and ice occurs. If so a lot of people leave their wipers on upon shutting off their cars. If you happen to do that and the windsheild had moister on it or if the snow starter falling while your vehicle was still warm it will freeze. The larger the snow amount the stronger the force will be if you start your vehicle up the next morning with your wipers buried in frozen ice & snow. Since the wipers were not shut off the wiper motor will run and the wiper blades will not. This will strip the linkage the wiper arms press onto leaving you with out working windsheild wipers

The wiper arm is broken and will not move at all. I tried to use it when there was excessive snow on the wind shield. It originally moved over pass the edge of the wind shield and hit the driver side rear...

hi bill im scott, im sorry to be the one that has to tell you this but it might be that you have rounded the main motor arm which is not as easy to change as just the wiper arm. if it just wiper arm then you will find a cap at the base of the arm which will pivot up with a little force and reveal a nut which will need undoing and most prob wil be loose. hence hitting wing mirror, if not the arm then it will take a lot of shifting the bulk head and remove whole wiper motor and inner arms which can be a bugger of a job.
