The most likely thing is a short circuit on the rear lights.
If you are lucky, take off the rear lamp assemblies and look for corrosion. If they are corroded, you will probably find the corrosion is bridging across anothe circuit or straight to earth, resulting in a power surge which will blow the fuse.
If you are un-lucky, you will have to follow the wiring right back through the chassis possibly as far as the fuse board. Somewhere there will be a wire which has chaffed through and is shorting against the bodywork, or w wire will have been nipped by a screw or between 2 pieces of metal, and again causing a short circuit.
Good luck.

OK there is a short in your car
take all the light bulbs out of the light that trigger the problem this break the current place one bulb in at a time checking that the fuse has not blown this will pin point where the problem is
once you find the problem you can replace the socket as it may have started to corrode check for water
once you replace the socket you should not have a problem
if you do let me know

I had this same problem with a nissan. When I hooked up the aftermarket stereo there was a wire for lumination and the aftermarket already has this covered so hooking it up blew the fuse for the tail lights.

If this vehicle has a trailer harness, that could be the problem; it could be shorted out. Additionally, if there is no trailer harness, look under the truck bed at the rear, look for a grey wiring connector that wires come out of, and run to the taillamps. I have observed corrrosion in this connector, which will result in a short circuit. You may find it necessary to cut the connector out and resplice the wires back together (eliminate the connector), if severe corrosion is indeed present.
SOURCE: Blows fuses when parking lights are turned on. Headlights work fine even running lights.
If it only happens when you turn the switchto the parking lights then it is most likely the swich that is the problem. Light swich failure appears to be a common fault with fords
