There was actually a recall for this. Go to your local GMdealer and have them check your VIN for a recall. If not under recall get out of there its easy to repair yourself don't let'em fool you.Remove the front pads caliper and rotors. Locate the abs sensor mounted to the wheelbearing assembly by a small socket head cap screw (Allen wrench). Removethe bolt and softly gently/wiggle the abs sensor around until it pops upout of the hole. some will break, which is why it wouldbe nice if the recall applies to your vehicle that way if they break gm replaces. Once you get both sides removed, clean themounting surface of all rust or build up with w-d 40 and small steel toothbrush then wipe off excess with clean rag and mild soap and warm water, dry completely make sure no spray residue exist on parts, Next apply a thin layer of lubricant grease to preventfuture rusting and reassemble. The rust build up under the sensor is causing the angle to change resultingin inaccurate wheel speed readings in the abs module your abs module will interprets this asa wheel is either slipping or skidding and applies your abs. This should make you happy with no more irritations. Please rate me. If you need further assistance you can always ask me. Good luck with this.

SOURCE: Can I replace my brake rotors on my 2000 GMC

yes you can BUT take into account the cost of getting the parts, taking off the wheel/calipers/rotors,replacing same with new pads,it aint that much to take it to a brake specialist depot and they carry a warranty after...its easy if you have the tools/spares to hand, and you feel like spending about 4 hours sat on the driveway...(in the rain?)no, brakes are the only job that i, as a trained tech, would not be bothered with...BUT it is your money...

SOURCE: need to replace brakes on

Disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear. Make sure that you repack the front bearing's with wheel grease before finishing the job.If the front rotors and or the rear drums have a rough brake pad surface, get them resurfaced before installing new brake pads or brake shoes in the rear. you can go online or your public library for complete instructions on how to replace the brakes on that vehicle.

You need to find the psi ratings for the pump you have and see if it matches the pressure specs for a 2000 GMC Safari pump. The parts store you purchased it from( or any parts store) should be able to look up that info on his merchandise

Best way to replace driver side spark plugs 2000 gmc safari????

The easiest way to replace the spark plugs on Chevrolet and GMC vans and some trucks is jacking up the front of the van behind the wheels you will see a rubber flap on between the frame and the body of the van lift it up and you will see your spark plugs use a long socket extension at least two feet long the longer the better and a flexible spark plug socket you will be able to turn your ratchet freely and get done fast. if your having hard time finding a long extension you can plug several short extensions together. NOTE: all ways star the spark plugs by hand or if you having troubles to get your fingers there use a piece of 3/8 rubber hose will help you to get the spark plug started then you just pull the hose off. if you star from the beginning using your socket you may put it crooked and strip the treat.
