SOURCE: 2003 Lancer AC knob wont switch all the way over to heat...

this is due to the cable behind the dash kinking when you move the knob at worst you may need a new cable at best you can try to get your head under the dash and reposition the cable eg. cable tie it over to one side so it dosn't kink

its not to hard to do just a little hard to get to good luck

SOURCE: 2002 mitsubishi lancer ac does not blow cold and will continue to

Sounds like either the a/c relay is bad or a/c compressor clutch is not disengaging. Look on the compressor for an electrical connector, and if you can, unplug it. That should stop the battery drain. I would suggest taking the car into a good a/c shop to have the compressor looked at. The clutch can be replaced without having to buy a new compressor.

SOURCE: AC knob wont switch all the way over to heat...

  1. so the knob is either broken or stiff to move and plyers wont turn all the the way to throw heat or cold air out for you.
  2. gently undo the two screws underneath your heater controls ( 2 screws)
  3. after that pull that peice out (there are no clips so it should be easy)
  4. after that is out you have more room to play with (getting your hand up behind the controls)
  5. now take the peice around the heater knobs and cd player off there are a few clips on this part so be careful not to break any but if gentle should come out easy.
  6. after thats off unscrew the cd player and unconnect the attena wire (small black wire hooked at far left of cd player) and the other radio harness.
  7. after that remove cd player out of the way.
  8. then you can see that your heater/ ac knob switch is controlled by a plastic arm try and push all the way to the left for heat and right for cold air. (this is one of the ways if they plyers arent working anymore)
  9. another place to look if your not getting the right results yet is underneath near the gas a break pedal to the right its a white plastic peice with another arm system in which you can either push toward the front of the car for heat or back to driver for cold air (may have them mixed up but either or should give results)
  10. re assembe and your good to go rather then a costly trip to the dealership if your just looking to stay warm in the winter or cool in the summer.

SOURCE: Lancer ES 2003 Hot/Cold knob won't turn.

You have a broken mounting at the end of the cable,at the housing thats why the temp. control knob doesnt work, you can remove the center console to gain access to pivot the broken piece manually and try to modify it so you can attach the cablr

If the heat is blowing hot and then cold, first check for a low coolant level.

hot air as in heater on, so turn off the heater,
test in pure A/C mode Cold.
when both A/C and heat are on this is called defrost mode
which adds cold dry air to hot air and dehumidifes the hot air and window.

Does your car overheat too?
If so, you could have a faulty thermostat, an air pocket in your cooling system or maybe even a leak somewhere. My truck's heat would only work while I was driving, then stopped working altogether while the engine started to overheat. I changed the thermostat, then the heat would blow hot/cold/hot/cold, I didn't realize you had to bleed the air out of the system after changing the thermostat. I did that and now the heater and engine run great.

Hot air blows when system turned to heat, when control is moved to Defraost or combination heat/defrost air temp cools down, what could cause this?

Make sure you have the heat selection set all the way to heat. In Ford and Dodge vehicles, when you select Defrost the AC compressor actually kicks in and if you have the temperature selection set to the cool side it will push cold air to defrost your windshield.

2004 sienna heating system problem. With the from heat control set to hot it sometimes blows hot and the cold air back and forth on its own with the heat set to hot?

try turning the blower down, if you have the fan on full you will feel cooler air from time to time. as the thermostat only measures the ambient tempreture inside the car when this level is met then it will turn off the heat so it will only blow the air from the car which will feel cooler.
if the car is still cold suspect the tempreture control in the car maybe faulty or the water level in the system maybe low.
