Hi Vanessa:
That problem can be a real pain. It happened to us in our Pontiac Aztek. What had happened was that there is a nut cast in the plastic battery tray. The hold down bolt threads down into the nut. Even a small amount of corrosive from the battery can sieze these threads. Trying to unscrew it breaks the plastic away from the nut and it spins.
The task now is to try to get the pieces separated. If you're lucky, soking the area where the nut is with penetrating fluid and leaving it overnight might allow it to loosen up. Since the nut is already turning, you will need to put lots of upward force on the screw to try to keep the nut from turning. This did not work for me but it's worth trying.
The next step is to cut the screw, remove the battery, and remove the tray so you can get at the retaining nut and remove it from the underside of the tray.
If you're lucky you can JB WELD a fresh nut in place and just have to replace the piece that you cut.
If you're not lucky, you replace the tray.
Patience, and scraped knuckles! Enjoy.

Battery change of Elgin ii elt018

Does it have a push in back?
Or a screw in back?

If there are no slots in the back of the watch then it is a push in back.
Look around the edge of the watch for little slot under the back..
Insert a knife or something that will fit in the slot and twist it, the back will pop off.
Inside the watch you will see the battery under a little holder with a screw on one end.
Undo the screw and lift the little holder away from the batter, remove the battery and replace it with the same type of battery, being careful to put it the same way up....

If it has a slotted back then you have to find some way of unscrewing the back.
I have used a pair of needle nose pliers, insert them into the slots and hold the firmly, in between the jaws of the pliers I insert a screwdriver and turn them from left to right, the back will become loose.
Unscrew the back and follow the instructions above for the replacement of the battery.
Watch for a teen rubber ring if there is one and try not to break it...
Do not forget to replace the ring when the back in screwed on....

Hope this helps
Regards
Geoff

HOW TO REPLACE BRAKE LIGHT ON 1997 F 150 TRUCK

if only one side of brake light is out it's probally the bulb, these are easly changed , by first going to auto parts store and getting new bulb , then using phillips head screwdriver remove four screws that are around permiter of tailight that is out , carefull dont loose these screws you'll need to put them back , gently rock tailight back and forth to break gasket seal and pull light straight out of truck it comes out about 10 inches , this modle has if i remember right three bulbs in taillight it's the center one if i remember right grap the white plastic bulb holder firmly and turn 1/4 turn counterclockwise the bulb holder should come free of tail light , grab bulb with one hand and holder with other and wiggle gently sideto side till bulb pops free of holder , use a clean towel or cloth to hold new bulb and insert it back same direction as previous bulb, wipe all smuges and fingerprints off bulb (this would cause hot spot on bulb and make it fail early) reinsert holder into tail light , I use car wax as gasket renewer on tail light border before i put it back in, but thats optional reinstall all four screws back in , there you are done !!

Replacing cup holder

I assume you mean the one that flips up in the center console?

If so, there are three likely issues.

1) did you slide out the retainer from the upper screw? the top screw had a cover that had to be pried off. you then took the screw out. Lastly you have to slide out the plastic retainer that the screw went into. It slides out towards the opening.

2) you have to have the cup holder partially open to remove it. the hinged part that folds up is stored in the cavity under the console when closed. you have to open the cup holder and keep pushing until the front of the cup holder lip comes up. Work the cup holder up and down until it comes out.

3) the cup holder is stuck in place due to years of spilled liquid. If you've done the above, then you can either spray soapy water on the creases around the opening and let it set, or you can apply strategic brute force.
Be aware through. if this is the center console cup holder just behind the gear shifter. There are two screws and nothing else to hold it in. Just be carefull....

I'm trying to change the battery on my 2006 Tiburon. How do I get a tight connection on the positive post with just a screw going down into the top? It's not holding the cover to anything at all.

I would go to an Auto supply store and look for a replacement batt terminal. a clamp type might be best. You would have to cut off the existing one and install the new one. Person in store might help with suggestions.

Charging system not working have already put in a brand new alternator and new battery

There is a fusible link in the connection between the alternator and the positive battery cable connector.

On the 1997 it is a 175 Amp Mega Fuse mounted on the outside of the high voltage fuse box located on the drivers's side in the engine compartment. After replacing the battery and the Alternator, it turned out to be a $4.99 fuse that was keeping the alternator current from reaching the battery.

The alternator cable bolts on to one end of the fuse, and the positive battery cable bolts on to the other end. You can test it inline without removing it by checking for continuity across the two bolts. An open circuit indicates that the fuse is blown and needs to be replaced.

If the fuse is blown (which means you have an open circuit), the battery light in the dash should be on.

The car will start normally if the battery has enough of a charge, but it will eventually die when the battery is too depleted to keep the car running, because the alternator can't take over if the current doesn't make it across the blown fuse.

If the battery is dead, it will start with a jump start, but it will die shortly after you remove the jumper cables for the same reason.

This is one of those problems that you might not think of right away, and it will drive you out of your mind. ALWAYS check this fuse before replacing a battery or an alternator on a mid to late '90s Model Thunderbird. You will save time, money, and you won't pull out your hair.

How do we get inside panel off driverside of ford 95 ford 150 ??? need to replace handle and cable.

Grab hold of the bottom of the plastic door panel and start gently pulling equally around until the plastic holders let go. You need to get new plastic holders from you local auto parts "HELP brand" section. Also I believe there is a philips head screw in where your fingers go.

88 acura lgnd alternator belt

I wrote another blog about getting the alternator (belt) off. The back cover of the alternator comes off with 3 nuts. The brushes are in a little holder with two screws holding it in place. Your will find that one or both of the brushes are worn down. You can get just the brushes on Ebay for $8 and shipping for a couple of pairs. They are soldered into the backside of the holder. Don't "blow" the dust around and simply wipe the commutator with a shop towel and put it back together.

I have a 95 buick lesabre 6 cyl. When I turn the car off, the AC blower will not stop running. I pulled the fuse to keep from running down the battery. The fuse was good and I don't know what the problem...

Replace the blower control module. Its under hood about six inches from the ac/heater fan motor on heater case hidden behind a shield. It bolts in from the top and has about eight wires going to it.
